| Restoring HTC Desire | |

So my HTC Desire is playing up a bit lately, and I am hoping a restore will fix it.
I updated it via the official update to 2.3, can I still restore it using the phone's restore mode? Is it safe to do so? |

Once you ROM update, using factory reset will take it back a blank copy of whatever you updated to.
And wow, considering im using and Android 4.0 (ice cream sandwich) custom rom on mine, ive totally forgotten what the 2.2 desire is like. (i read this as you dont have a custom rom and were wanting to do the official update) ---

Yeah, I updated to 2.3 from 2.2. Wanted to factory reset, but doesn't seem to want to work. Never really got into the custom rom thing, was too scared of bricking my phone.

Its a build of Cyanogenmod 9. It has only been ported to the Nexus one as they are the same device essentially. The Desire Z is a different chipset. http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=758 <-- you want to try ICS roms here. eg: http://forum.xda-developers.com/sho...d.php?t=1553642 None of them will be stable though, see the list of things not working. ---
