Have any of you guys been using ENB mods?
What are your experiences with them?

I recently tried some and they seemed to be too much trouble for what they are worth..

Instead I went with nexus mod manager and installed all the 2k textures, static mesh, armor, climates of tamriel etc etc

Finding the vram usage to be between 1600 and 2000.

It peaked at one stage this evening at 2027 but the frames were still very good.

Has dropped to 55 frames once in a dungeon but apart from that running at around 60-110.

Specs
2gb 680
3570k@4.2GHZ
2560x1440 reso.
8xAA
8xAF

Also a note that as soon as i loaded the ENB mods the mouse started to get really sluggish....

I would head right over to http://skyrim.nexusmods.com//? and check out the ENB stuff there. Even better, check the Skyrim forums at Boris's own ENB site, where you got the original ENB DLL file.

Then there is the STEP Project for advanced graphics modification:
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/11/?
STEP has a webpage for ENBs and a shortlist of what they consider are the most vanilla ENB mods true to the game.
For me, I went through a stream of different ENB mods before settling on RealVision ENB http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/30936/?

Its because it's configured to be used with two low impact graphics mods called Climates of Tamriel (for the advanced weather system and sky lighting) and Realistic Lighting Overhaul (advanced lighting effects). More importantly, the latest version RealVision ENB comes with SweetFX. Its a graphics post-processing effects package that includes its own AA configuration. That allows you to wind back your in-game antialiasing settings for even better performance.

There are some performance ENBs out there, but after reading the forum/support pages carefully, I found disabling Depth-of-field and SSAO settings in the configuration of each ENB mod was all I needed to speed up performance. SweetFX allows me to turn off 'quality' settings for the game in my graphics card driver.
My PC is lower spec than yours so Im happy with 35-50 FPS most of the time.

At the end of the day, your choice of ENB comes down to taste, as there is everything from fantasy to black and white noir ENBs to choose from.

My Specs:
2gb AMD 7850
2500k @ stock
1920x1080 resolution.
2xAA in-game; no settings in the card driver
16xAF in-game and in ENB settings; no settings in the card driver
