Have you tried increasing the number of threads that CuteFTP uses? Whatbox has a guide: https://whatbox.ca/wiki/CuteFTP_Pro

Use something like IDM for http downloads from the seedbox if you can. I manage to get my line speed for downloads on the SS unlimited connection.

FileZilla has an issue whereby it is slow when using Passive mode (the default)

Force it into Active mode and you'll notice the speed pick up.

FDM has a "site manager" for login details and a "site explorer" for browsing the ftp, I presume IDM has something similar.

FDM's site manager and site explorer are the reasons I switched.

IDM has a site manager/explorer.

I think the FDM one is slightly better, I had a reason for changing just can't be bothered to go and find out.

Seed.st has pretty good speeds at a descent price.

Also, I am able to max out my ADSL2+ line at the moment with seed.st - I am downloading at about 1.8MB/s

I am getting VDSL at the end of next week - i wonder if i can max out that too :P

Lately with slingshot AYCE I can do 100GB+ a day to home.

I'm with whatbox.ca aswell, and I also have VDSL. I quite easily max out my line at 4MB/s consistantly. I can also pull awesome speeds down to the seedbox from the private tracker I use.
