my 1st lan party was when Quake II was the new game on the block and I was running a amd 200mhz 4mb ram and dual 12mb voodoo cards with a 17" crt.. oh god I miss them days.

I think mine was 1st lan was wolfienstien 3D i think the multiplayer of it came out about a year after the single player around 93 or 94 (on a intel 286 i bought for my busness that i think cost 4.5K second hand 6 months old) then Doom and Quake came out and TF and good old CS beta when you couldn't buy guns you had to remember where you died and run and pick the guns up off the ground before some one beat you to it. there was only a few maps assualt and backally i think were my favs.

then I was in a quake II clan.. I think I had a 300 mHz Dell with a voodoo 2.... nothing flash like 2 video cards that's for sure

I had no friends so wolfenstein 3d was single player all the way

I remember being hooked on the original wolfenstein at school... was 2d, green stick graphics on the apple 2e. Cutting edge! There was 3 computers in a room so it was the beginning of the group gaming for me.

First lan was SMG lan and it rocked! Is it just me or is there less vomit and ambulances these days ( yes chipmunk... still )

Can't believe I am going to miss this SMG lan.

Mind you, since I gave my gaming laptop a large drink of chocolate milk it isn't that shit hot at gaming anyway. Or anthing at all...It still has a light that comes on when I press the power button so it is the most expensive led night light I have.

Yeah luved the close up feel of backally and the old TF with all the diferent grenades etc. Just started rebuilding the Lan network from the ground up.
MS Hyper-visor to host servers (back to the old basic cmd promt for changes)
Building up the SBS 2011 vertual server for the second time It didnt like the B class network we run for the lan. Forgot how much work it is setting up the gear for the Lan:(
We going to be running the whole network from my house this year trying to reduce the amount of gear we have to set up in the hall.

Im not exactly close by, but if you need a hand man just sing out on here, im sure I can mission in to help early on the day or night before if you need a hand
