Looks fantastic, but with my PIII 733 & GeForce 2, I might be forced to wait for The Getaway on PS2 in December . I just don't think my comp will do this game justice.

You should be fine. Thanks to Phantom I now have a copy of this game and no money But it runs fine on my computer 1.1Ghz Athlon, Geforce 2 Gts Pro 64MB DDR.

I've got to admit early on things seemed pretty boring, but after the mission to collect some protection money I've been loving it. Deffinatly worth getting if you haven't already.

I love it, I hope they decide to bring the Getaway out on PC, that and Vice City, chances are low.

Hmm, I personally thought it was far better than GTA3.
For starters, I started doing the missions in GTA3, and then got bored, and just used cheats to get a lot of guns. Fun for a whole week!
Mafia, however is the best game I have *ever* played.
I havn't even done a 'Free Ride' yet because the storyline is so awesome, I just want to play it all day. I have never cheated, but I must admit have reffered to a walk-thru several times. The one thing I don't like about it is the speed that the cars go.
Yes, I know it was in the 1930's, BUT if you were alive then, going 50 miles per hour would have feel a lot faster...
Gah, no idea how to explain this.
Basically, you can't go very fast unless you are in one of the 1337 cars, and they are pretty rare. This nags me, because it can get quite boring driving around... if you take a couple of good hits in a mediocre car you can't make it up some hills =/
Why this may be more realistic, it doesn't make it as fun.
I'm going to clock this game, and this is a huge acheivement because the only other game I have ever liked enough to finish has been Max Payne.

what I love is the endless map (practically)

Wait till you finish the main story game, then you can do the Extreme Free ride which has ramps to try and jump aross the river and also has some pretty fast and amazing cars.
I agree with everyone in saying its one of the most well done and fun games i have ever played
