is this anything like crash 2?
I need to choose my little sister a game, and she loves crash 2 (but not 3, aparently that sux) so i thought i might try this.

She should love it! I'd probably liken it more to Spyro and definitely Jak & Daxter than Crash but it certainly has a sort of similar appeal too that Crash had and there's bits in it that'll feel familiar to that. I suggest you try and grab the R&C demo from any videogame store and check it out cos there were heaps of those discs floating around and it contains two playable levels. Personally I reckon this is THE game at the moment for younger gamers (and older gamers alike!).

Yes,Ratchet and Clank is a great game.I think it is more like Spyro than Crash or Jak and Daxter.
