3D fighting games. Love 'em or hate 'em - either way blame Sega for thinking them up, and throwing a generation of gamers kicking screaming & punching into a whole new dimension of combat.

Not that this reviewer is complaining. Far from it. Is there anything then to grizzle about with Sega's latest offering, Virtua Fighter 4? Perhaps......

This is a pretty minor and anal point to make, but anti-aliasing is the process of *removing* aliasing, which is what you call jaggies.

Nice review though, I agree with what you said. My flatmate bought the game last week. You can defeat the AI to a limited extent by pressing mostly random buttons, but as stated you tend to get murdered after the first three or four opponents in arcade mode. What I particularly liked was when the computer started a reversal (when the defender counters an attack by sidestepping or grabbing the incoming fist or foot leaving the attacker open to attack) but then just held my arm there for a brief moment as if to say 'try that again and I WILL break it next time' before releasing me. Needless to say with my limited game skill I kept trying the move and eventually was thrown/beaten/twisted in a suitably violent fashion.

Cheers for the words Dernuss. If there's anything you would've liked to have seen added/changed then lemme know. Assuming the buds at GP have a further lapse of sanity and get me to do another review it's good to have some input on what peeps think :)
