Leon: are those Watanabes or minilites on the MX-5?

Had a 1984 AW11 MR2, sold it to Gar. Now looking at buying a 1985 SA22C RX-7 turbo (series 3) next year to add to the menagerie:

1983 DR30 Skyline sedan

1983 DR30 Skyline coupe

1985 Laser TX3 4WD DOHC turbo

1986 Laser TX3 FWD DOHC turbo

1985 Laser TX3 FWD SOHC turbo

Technically neither ... they're a Japanese clone wheel so far as I can tell. The only marking on them is "BR". They're fairly common, and I have two sets. One was on my AE92 GT when I bought it, and the second set I purchased for about $100.

Ah yes, Black Racing wheels. Pity the only ones floating around always seem to be in FWD offset.

Suits me though, as they've been on my AE110 wagon, AE92 Sedan, and now onto the MX5, and potentially an EP82 Starlet as well. I just need to find another set of them, and all will be well in my wheel collection.

Yep, non power steering. I don't like 944's power steering.

The wheels were 17x7.5 front 17x9 rear. I had Hancook 225's front and 255's rear. It worked really really well in the dry but on the track in the wet I felt it aquaplaned a little, I think the tyres might have been too wide for the weight of the car. On the road I never had any trouble though.

It cost me $2200 for the wheels and tyres brand new and fitted from magwharehouse which I thought was a good deal.
