Some guy won my auction on TradeMe, but is an Aussie and wants to use PayPal

The problem is I can't work out how to add my bank account (ASB) to PayPal?

Bank Account (example)
12-3049-1111111-111
How am I meant to fit it into PayPal


Maybe if I go

1111111-11 ? (the last suffix is 3 digits for ASB -> ASB, and 2 for other banks)

Bank number = 123049
Account number = 1111111111

(Going by the example you gave)

I found it a bit weird but the first 6 numbers indicate your bank and its location. The final 9/10 digits indicate your bank account.

Well with the hyphen as well at the end. I used 3 digits on the end.

And I make sure to include the hypen

Or do I leave it out?

Right now, Paypal shows it as

Paypal uses a different currency rate than say xe.com

Oh cool.. so now it tells me I can change that to NZD in my profile.. except now I've lost a good $16

I thought that to use trademe, if the seller was in Aussie, they had to provide a NZ bank account to deposit the money into? Might be wrong though.

I used to use Paypal a lot, but not as much these days, from memory the fee (under $150) is pretty much what Bze said, bugger all

if you do sell to an ozzy make sure the shipment is (tracked)insured i sent $200 item over which wasn't insured it 'didn't arrive' so they claimed i never sent it and took my $200 from me by proving to paypal it wasn't tracked...son of a bitch

This is true, but had you actually read the OP you would note that Velandis is the seller, and he's in NZ.

Australians are allowed to purchase through TM without having an NZ bank account, they just have to come to an agreement with the seller on how the payment will be made - as in this case, Paypal.
