 [REC]2 (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1245112/) The sequel to the critically acclaimed [REC] is coming out on the 13th November. The original was one of the scariest horror films of the decade and was quickly remade for US audiences as Quarantine. We won't go there though. Let's just say I have a distaste for remakes accommodating audience reluctance for subtitles. [REC]2 takes place 20minutes after the original when a special ops team is sent in to clean up the mess. The brilliant handheld pov camera style that defined the first film is in tact here so it's sure to have a shitload of scary moments! It premiered at Venice out of competition and has since hit Toronto and Sitges. It's already doing solid business in Spain as well. Reviews out of the TIFF say it's a worthy sequel to the original which is a relief as some succesfull Horror films get diluted by the awfulness of subsequent entries.. cough.. Saw.. cough.. I know a lot of you loved the first one so check out the official [REC]2 trailer: It will have a limited run at Skycity Queen St from the 13th November so hopefully a lot of you will go watch it. Horror films, like comedies always play better on the big screen because laughing and getting the shit scared out of you are even more effective with a big audience to ratchet up the tension  Me and a couple of mates made a short film inspired by the [REC] universe to promote the upcoming release. I will be watching this... i liked the first one, didnt think it was that scary but was a really cool take on an old concept... I hate when americans ruin good foreign films
