    How fast is "fast" post?

Someone from Christchurch is sending me an item with fast post at 9am tomorrow, I live in Mount Maunganui.

Is fast post fast enough to get to me tomorrow or will it be on thursday?

Varies. Island to island will take a bit longer I think. Should be there by Thursday though.

    I think.

You will get it on Thursday.

If you want it faster, get them to ball up to same-day courier.

Disown friend, obviously they don't value your friendship since they're using fastpost.

Standard post is faster then Fast post, I've known cages and sacks of fast post product sitting up at the mail centres for days because of the lack of staff to sort it.

IRL at you even contemplating the possibility of fast post reaching you same day.
Thursday if you're lucky, more likely Friday.

Knowing my luck (going the opposite way) it would take a (working) week.

Should have gone with courier post tbh. Would have got it next day.

None of you have answered his original question.
    How fast is fast post?

Well if it arrives on thursday 9am it is about 38km/h.
Thursday at 12 noon, about 35km/h.
    Friday at 9am, about 19.5km/h
Friday at 12 noon, about 18km/h.

    I predict 35km/h aka 12 noon Thursday.

Probably not inter island, but within the island if i send a package in the morning, courier picks it up at ~7.30am, and generally it arrives later that afternoon
