    Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830

Can anyone recommend a good ROM for this? It belongs to a mate, he's tried loading some custom ROM on it and it wont boot anymore so im tasked with fixing it. I have an S3 so no idea what ROM's are available for this phone. He doesn't want the stock ROM back on it and wants jellybean or ICS. Can anyone link me to a decent ROM and perhaps the stock ROM just incase?

    Thanks in advance

Take a look around the A developer forum for it, they should have all the required info.

Why do you need an NZ firmware? Just use something that isnt a T-Mobile or Verizon rom.
Sammobile is just stock rom's anyway. What version was it running? Gingerbread?

Trying to flash this with stock rom using Odin Multi Downloader for 5830, but when the phone is in download mode Odin doesn't detect it, its weird though, there seems to be two download modes, theres one where it just says DOWNLOADING in yellow, then theres another download mode with white text saying Emergency Dload Mode (ARM9 MODE) but neither mode is detected by Odin, is this phone hard bricked?

Doesn't make a difference, I also have MSM7x27 driver missing in Device Manager? I've tried reinstalling the Samsung USB drivers to no avail.

Using Windows 8 Enterprise btw, have also tried this in Windows 7, no difference

My brother has my old S5830 I put a good ICS rom on it just trying to find out from him now what it is.

Did he not put CWM Recovery on it first?

Edit: Not an ICS rom but good rom nonetheless: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1965848
