What amazes me about this one is that they actually got Alan Ford to appear in it:

I printed that^ out and pinned it up at my desk.

All I got was questions from non developers on what it meant. My explanation was "You're doing it right now"

Oh yeah, I hand-write config parsers all the time. Don't we all? Also, anyone using ints in Python to signal boolean values is a terrible person.

I am routinely interrupted at work because I've got a lot of institutional knowledge of our codebase (and I'm the proxy product owner), and I wouldn't have it any other way. If people have a question that I can answer, then the sooner I answer it then the sooner they can solve their problem.

But I suppose this is aimed at people being interrupted by Joe from sales.

I do that and will continue to do so until they use true and false instead of True and False.

Sad to say though, the author is deadly serious. Here's a follow-up article he wrote:

Nope, if you called me a rockstar developer, I'd break my guitar on your head.

I'm sure I've had a few rants about this in the past, ninjas, wizards, rockstars, grand masters etc.

We're not 12, we don't need some superhero title to feel good.

Possibly not really relevant to this thread at all, but couldn't think of a more suitable place to post it...

    Pretty neat, unique portfolio/site: http://strml.net/
