Rapollo AV use to do 15% off flat across the entire site on every major holiday before new management took over few months ago. SVS prices have also gone up on their website due to strong USD.

I would give my left nut to get wife permission for a pair of svs subs.

I think it's 15% off most stuff this weekend, but it's the svs subs that matter.

Please the wife by playing Adele live at the royal albert hall (blu-ray) Fidelity is superb on the DTS track, with ample low end and great dynamic range, also good for huge/loud center speakers.
I need heaps of new speaker cable for the surrounds nice and thick 4x18m
already buying a fiio this week and other audio cables, going to get expensive!

    www.minidsp.com

I will be ordering my pre-callibrated UMIK-1 from Cross Spectrum in few months time.

I'm not sure what the difference is here. The version directly from minidsp comes with a unique calibration file that you download. From cross spectrum it comes with the calibration on a USB thumb drive and costs 25usd more?

    36 / 44 / 48 usd for posting 1/2/3 mics from cross spectrum.

minidsp callibration files is rated to 20Hz only. cross spectrum's goes much lower than that and offers much better calibration (these guys are serious audiophiles). You also get a individual 90 degree calibration file for that umik.

Maybe we can do a umik-1 group buy.

If we bought 5x mic with 10% discount it would be about $40NZ saving per mic including redelivery.

So basically the umik-1 is used as a mic to do Room EQ?
Basically a alternate version of Audyssey?

If i bitstream from my PC to my AVR will I get any benefits?

Off the top of my head and there is probably better info on a Google search....

Umik1 is used to room and speaker eq.

The audessy mic won't be individually calibrated so will be inaccurate also it won't measure into the low frequencies.

Using rew you can analyze your room better. You can adjust the position of speakers relative to the wall and fine tune the response without eq.

You can manually eq the system in your avr to make better adjustments than auto mode.

You can eq the subs and look at the frequency response for different sub positions and timings.

Yes. If you bitstream umik1 is still useful. Also if you have a umik1 your htpc could potentially outperform the room correction dsp (digital signal processing) ability of your avr but you'd need to decode the audio on your htpc if you wanted to dsp on your htpc. The dsp ability on a pc is about 1000x better than any avr. PS: there is no difference in audio quality between hd audio (eg dolby hd dts hd) that is decoded on your htpc into pcm vs hd audio that is bitstreamed and then decoded on your avr.

Anyone want these really good bluetooth sport ear phones. They are top of the line as far as Bluetooth ear phones go. I decided i don't need them for myself.

    Jaybird blubudsX $109.99
    +/- 3x Comply foam tips $12.95
    Postage to NZ $6.70
    Total $129.64 usd. (Or $116.69)

I've decided i don't need these. Ordered from massdrop. Haven't arrived yet. Anyone want to buy these at cost from me? I will pay for nz courier.

there maybe is an option to remove the extra comply tips from the order.

Cost plus 5 to 7.5% sale
    Next weekend

This is usually result good for av furniture and speaker stands (they stock Wharfedale diamond rear stands and also omp av furniture). For tvs cost sale is not good as tvs are often "below cost" on sale. Cost doesn't include rebates and volume discounts which is why tvs sales can often be "below cost"
