Just had a thought a moment ago, seeing as you guys are all christians, say another christian wanted to join 'Jesus Freaks' and you said no, wouldn't that count as rejection sort of thing, as the bible says not to do?

Please realise I am not looking for trouble or anything, just came accross my mind :)

Oh and I have an issue, I was(am) brought up in a family that believe very highly in god, miracles have happened to everyone in my family. I am from South Africa, we went to a church there all my life, and my parents also went to church during their lives, when we moved to New Zealand we couldn't find a church we like, and to this day we still have not. I read the bible now and then and I try to be a Christian, my problem is that I swear a lot, and seeing as this is a sin, and a bad thing, I have been trying to get rid of the habbit for about 3 years now, I pray to god asking him to help me to stop, I only last about 2 days and then I'm back to my old self.

Any suggestions on how to stop swearing?

I forgot to add that I have dedicated my life to God and I have believed in him since I was old enough to understand, swearing is my only problem in my relationship with him.

Can be tough , i was the same , stil swear occasionally when the situation is right lol >.<.It just takes a lot of willpower , maybe try giving yourself rewards for a day of no swearing or like a month or somthing?

it also looks like you are surrounded with the wrong crowd... if you know what I mean.
Its always good to be in touch with christians where u can have fellowship with one another.
Believing in God isnt enough, having a relationship is everything.

yeah i would have to say, Christianity is a Life style choose, where you choose to have a relationship with God, you choose to accept Jesus' Sacrifice. Don't think that you have to stop swearing, but realise that when you swear it hurts other people, or if your not actualy swearing at someone, the costant swearing causes you to slip up easy and swear at others. The reason you should not swear, is to do unto others as you would have them do to you. Most people don't like being sworen at, people like to be appreciated, not torn down. Swearing and name calling is one of the main ways of tearing down someones self estem (sp?) It says in the Bible, i think Ephesians 4:29 - Let not any filthy word go out of your mouth, but if any is good to building up in respect of need, that it may give grace to the ones hearing. 30 - And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you are sealed until the day of redemption. 31 - Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and tumult and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice.

The best way of overcoming this is by realising the pain and suffering it can cause if you do it unto others. And think to yourself, that you wouldn't like anyone to do that to you, so why should you do that to others. The more you swear the more you are likely to swear and blow up at others when something goes wrong.

anything that causes you to think anything other then wat the Lord wants is a sin. So if u get buzzed as on buds or somthing u generally wont sit there going i shouldnt say that because its not wat God wants ull just let loose (generally) so u shouldnt be doing it if u know wat i mean

i just sit there and cee see or just talk... nothing like jumping ppl or liek that
but isn't buds bad anyway like "do u not know that ur body is a temple of the holy spirit who is in u whom u hav received from god? u r not ur own you were bought wif a price therefore honor god wif ur body"
