    oculus have many different shipping regions/warehouses. eg our hardware comes from HK and would have different stock levels/timeframes to the US.

    when i ordered mine i had to pay $100 for shipping and taxes to Oculus - this included GST.

    not sure about whatever deal they've got on now

    no, Oculus is GST registered in NZ and they pay all import duties on your behalf.

    rift is definitely more comfortable, as for any visual differences between the two they are too slight or inconsequential to really notice.

    rift does roomscale, you just need a 3rd sensor.

    once you take into account the Vive knuckle controller and the headstrap etc, the Rift may be up to $400-$500 NZD cheaper

    oculus for sure. cheaper (particularly if you take into account the included titles), better software, more dev investment etc etc

    the only real advantage the Vive has is that roomscale is easier...
