Thread: Denis Villeneuve to adapt Dune

I just hate everything to do with the main character so far. The lore and the background of the story is fine. It's not challenging to pick up on at all, especially these days when you can just...

Thread: Denis Villeneuve to adapt Dune

Finally reading Dune with all this spare time and ..it's a really bad book. If I read it when I was younger I would've 100% loved it though.

    Thread: Lockdown cravings

Seeing gym junkies squirm is very funny right now, actually have to find real hobbies.

    Thread: Westworld [HBO]

There's a lot of Black Mirror in this season; reminds me of that episode where everyone had an app to rate each other.

Aaron Paul is just *ok* but I think he suits this role well, just like he suited Pinkman well.

Loving this so far but super disappointed to find out there's only 8 eps.

Thread: Final Fantasy VII remake in works; coming first on PS4

If he just wanted to play the game he wouldn't stream it. He's searching for clout.

I'm tempted to get a cheap ps4 just for this :/

Thread: Half-Life: Alyx - VR game

I mean..it's a game designed from the ground up for VR. Why is this so hard to believe?

    Thread: Westworld [HBO]

Really liked the first ep. Also like pudgy Jesse Pinkman.

Back on form - they've learned from their mistakes last season and are obviously making it a more streamlined sci-fi revenge story, which...

    Thread: Altered Carbon [Netflix]

I liked it, think they did a good job of navigating through the fact that Book 2 was basically not adaptable (and not as good) by taking a lot from book 3.

I was a little disappointed at the end...

Hearing that it's more focused than the first season? Looking forward to watching

Thread: Matrix 4 greenlit with Reeves, Moss and one Wachowski sibling on board

    Cool story bro.

I can understand why Speed Racer is polarising. I just think they nailed exactly what they were going for. Whether you like it or not is obviously up to you.

Good to be back to winning ways in front of a big crowd. Steinmann makes a difference.

Speed Racer was good. Cloud Atlas and Jupiter Ascending were special kinds of convoluted; I kind of love that they attempted either.

    Thread: Altered Carbon [Netflix]

A lot of what was in Book 2 would've been prohibitively expensive for a TV show, so I guess that's not surprising

Oh wow you read it? Cool story, bro. Isn't the reality. Taika dressing up as Hitler is one of the most popular movies of the year.

    Thread: Birds of Prey (2020)

It's all subjective, I suppose - either way, initial buzz seems (overall) positive. A few YouTubing neckbeards won't change that.

Thread: Cyberpunk 2077 - CD Projekt RED says it won't ship incomplete (or something)

    You missed the /s

Though I do think streaming games will *eventually* help to solve the problem; it'll just take a long time for infrastructure and technology to reach that point for the majority...
