    Thread: GP suggests PC builds

Slightly faster memory wouldn't have gone a miss in this build, but solid build.

I haven't searched every shop, but these specs seem pretty solid for the money

Thread: Have you made the jump to 4k?

What model did they buy for $4200? Maybe they did away with recording TV when everything seems to be ondemand these days. I didn't know people even needed to record TV these days. Could slip past me...

Thread: Good replacement for Spark/Huawei HG659b router?

Just get another one either off trademe for dirt cheap or get one from ISP for free if you sign up for another 12 months potentially. I say this because I have ISP one that has been running 3 years...

Thread: GP discusses the latest PC cases

Just wait then, I can't say how long... but there will be better value options at some point. I'm in the same boat, 5700XT isn't a big enough jump to get me 144hz on ultra, so i'm waiting for 5800XT...

Thread: GP boasts their YOLO upgrades

Don't be too hard on yourself. It pretty much is a YOLO due to the fact it's well overpriced. 2080 would be a much smarter buy (which is saying a lot given the pricing of the whole range).

Thread: GP boasts their YOLO upgrades

Will still perform the same as those with brand tax, like ASUS. I was merely pointing out the gigabyte cards are fine in general reliability wise. If they weren't you struggle to find retailers...

Thread: GP discusses the latest CPUs & GPUs

Move over, Intel is entering the arena. They have the money to beat everyone.

No point upgrading that CPU unless your GPU game is strong.

Thread: GP boasts their YOLO upgrades

My last two Gigabyte Windforce cards worked flawlessly. I always found them cool and quiet with the triple fans. Radeon 6950 (which I still have for backup) and GTX970.

Thread: What did you do to your car today?

Removed front suspension from car, chopped it in half and will courier it up north to have coilovers welded on and bigger brakes fitted. 200mm rotors and single pot upgraded to 276mm rotors and 4...

Thread: GP discusses the latest CPUs & GPUs

Intel hit the wall because they took a pit stop and just never got back on the road. Nvidia have been giving less and less performance gain as time goes on, while bumping the prices up. 1080Ti to...

Thread: Ship/Transport new car Auckland -> Wellington

    Would drive it for sure.

When the car wasn't roadworthy though I used PTS Auto and had no problems. They were cheapest in my case and didn't care the car drove but not well. Driving it was no an...

Thread: GP discusses the latest CPUs & GPUs

Will be interesting to see what Nvidia do with ray tracing. Developers will be using whatever AMD decides to go with. Which is why current ray tracing is dead in the water IMO. By that I mean limited...

Thread: GP discusses the latest CPUs & GPUs

If what they release is a big jump, it means whatever AMD has in the pipeline is going to give them grief. If AMD doesn't have anything to compete, expect usual Nvidia performance bumps of not that...

Yeah Amazon is great if the saving is worth it. Otherwise buying local is easier for returns. Can't go wrong with a 3600 for that price.

I had a neighbour email me about a joint fence, never gave them my email. I certainly wouldn't be hitting anyone up about it though. It's an email, and it's not a malicious act, it's to help get...
