In my case I have a bit of trouble with clipping (volume going outside the bounds) when I'm recording the singing separately which I did in the electric guitar tracks. Because I have a $20 microphone, whenever I go over the volume limit it makes a nasty popping noise and I would have to do the whole thing again. Because of this I have to be careful when recording vocals and keep a safe distance away from the mic and not make any part of it too much louder than the rest otherwise it ruins the whole take. Add to that the chunky wall of sound that palm muted distortion produces and it tends to own.

I'm using the audio equivalent of MS Paint to do the mixing as well, so the result is comparative.
