    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This thread is about helping out Huyi (real name Alex, and he is 19 years old)

Thought this could do with a new thread.. just so people dont have to wade through 15 pages... and he is one of my fav posters on gpod.. so yeah.

If you do not know what this is about.. then read here

    http://www.gpforums.co.nz/thread/405122/?

Hey GP so i have been told I have about 2 months to live. I was diagnosed with cancer for the third time today and so am having some thoughts and things to do. Keep in mind that I am relatively weak and sore because of the illness. Any ideas guys?
More bad news guys. Spent most of yesterday in hospital on a drip. The cancer has progressed far faster than anyone thought. My lastest estimate is 2 weeks if I am lucky.

In saying that, I thought about it all yesterday and accepting donations from GP might be a good dea. Funeral costs are increibly high and my mother has only returned back to work in May in this after looking after me for the previous year four years. I want to have left something behind for them..... is this doable? One thing I really want to help out with is my younger sisters exchange. There is no way for her to save enough or for my parents to help out

Oh and to everyone asking how I am handling this so well? What choice do I have? I can sit around and feel sorry for myself and why it shouldn't have happened to me but that is such a waste. I should be living the best life possible!
The national meat sounds good but there is no way my body could handle it. I can barely walk as it is

Yep I still have to sort out the items that I am going to sell or giveaway.

If you are willing to donate you can do so with the account details above. Please don't feel you have to though!!
One of the major things I will be seriously thinking about was a stressless chair (the super comfortable ones). It should help a lot when I become immobile and/or housebound.

Yea sure a brief outline. I have had T-cell nonhodgkins Lymphoma which appeared as I tumor in front of lungs and was diagnosed on 31st Dec 2003. Suffered a blood cloth and stroke due to a medical misadventure. I went into remission and was largerly clear and fine until last year (October 2009) and found out that I had relapsed but in the form of leukeamia so there were no tumors just cancer cells in my blood.

I was put down for a stem cell transplant early this year and my match was a person in the US. Everything went exactly to plan and I had been staying home with the folks since the doctors didn't want me working or studying.

Finally last tuesday I was going to Wellington Hospital for a checkup and was given the all clear so I went back home. On wednesday I was feeling a bit crook and rang Wellington Hospital and they sent me to Palmerston North cancer unit, totally expecting the test to come back as normal (I live in Palmy btw). They took a few more blood tests and rang my dad to come in. He all sat us down and I knew what he was going to say because there was no other reason he would want the whole family. He gave us the diagnosis and said there are no treatment options they have left to give me and my body had received the maximum amounts possible for my lifetime.

After I had the prognosis I got home, had a cry etc. I had another blood test on Friday and the doctor had this solemn look on his face. He told me that him, the senior consultant and head of the haemotoly team had never in their entire careers seen a cancer develop so rapidly. It took pretty much 2 days from undetectable to very high amount of cancer cells. The cells are called "blastocites(s?)" and from what I understand they are immature cancer cells that my body sees as normal so they just keep multiplying eventually killing me.

Hopefully you can make some sense of this post O_o
Real name is Alex. If you can't donate or anything (its fine dont feel you have to) maybe a blood donation to the blood bank would be doable? I went through a lot of bags of blood and it has saved my life more than once.

Thank you for all the donations.. I (mox) have removed the link to his details now.
