    Review: Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood

ON PAPER, ASSASSINíS CREE Brotherhood doesnít make a particularly compelling proposition. Released just a year after the previous instalment, the game features the same characters in the same setting, performing the same tasks.

Everything about it smacked of milking a successful franchise, of propping what might otherwise be a lacklustre quarterly financial report for publisher Ubisoft. Small wonder it was written off long ago by some specialist media as Assassinís Creed 2.5, and smaller wonder that the publisher focused as much of the pre-release coverage as it could on what was touted as the gameís most noteworthy addition: Multiplayer.

Died in the wool naysayers will feel vindicated in one regard at least: Assassinís Creed: Brotherhood is an extremely familiar experience. Ezioís character doesnít develop in any consequential way and thereís a woeful lack of intrigue to the historical plot.

Wasn't Assassin's Creed II released not that long ago?

    Indeed.

Just don't wanna waste money on it if it's pretty much just DLC for number 2.

They're making multi-player as the selling point.

Surprised at 9.0 if it's just AC 2.5, they must have done a good job.
Too lazy to read review though.

Slightly off-topic: is AC2 worth picking up on the pc? I've got a pretty good rig, but do own both consoles, but would prefer to have nicer graphics. I've heard its a bit of a DRM nightmare, though?

Yeah, mine neither - I pre-ordered the collector's ed months ago but they supposedly were shipping this arvo, probably the standard edition. Might have had stock issues, but still disappointing huh

You must spend the majority of your life being surprised. Why not read the review, and comment afterwards? It'll differentiate you from at least two people who have commented on this thread thus far.

I was waiting for this review from GP.

I would be lying if I said my purchase of this game didn't hinge on this review.

Looks like I'll be picking this up today!

I never buy games solely based on reviews but they would help when it comes to a game that I'm iffy on.
    Which is almost never.

It's a step up from box art or buying it cause the game it was based on was good.

Although typically my favourite games sit in the 6-7 review range, unpolished yet unique-ish in style. Usually I find them by chance.

If there is no demo available, how do you form a judgement?

It sounds like a great game and maybe it is just me but I feel like the reviewer would be better off writing short stories instead of reviews with the way the sentences and paragraphs are structured and the vocabulary that is used, no offence.

The first thing I thought when I read it was that you'd be swell at writing stories because of the uncommon descriptors used and just the way the whole thing flowed really xD

Better off were the wrong words to use, I feel rude now because you're always so nice to everyone on here :P
