It is raining right now in the Garden City, just what we needed after this 32c day.

Will be great for the Pheonix Enduro too

All I have to say is that Upper Leaping Lizard is how I expected Peak Flow to be.
    Shit was fun!

Like Livewires it's one of the OG trails.
It's an old farm road so it's on the wider side.
Goes up and down a bit then narrows up a bit, speeds up and tightens.
Might not be for everyone but brought back some memories from back in the day.

Gonna hit some Miramar trails in the morning.
Go check out the pump track and Topatopa.

Then head out to Wainui but I don't think my recently injured mate will be keen for Morepork.

Motepork is quite steep from what I hear could be good haha. I need to ride the new Miramar trail

  10. Post
Rode Morepork last time I was here.
    Had an absolute blast.
    Definitely my kinda trail.

We'll see how this random screee trail is.

Wainui is great man! Freewheel is a bit peedally, but good fun anyway. 491/spoonhill is where its at though.

A real shame they broke up beeline because that was probably one of my fave trails.

Yeah not a big fan of Freewheel.
Got some good parts but they're too far apart.

Yup gotta love 491 and OG Spoonhill.
    I liked McMillans too.

  13. Post
Spoonhill is extremely rutty when I rode it last and horrific in the wet. End section always good after 491 meets it.

Rode North Face at Mak today. What a disappointment.

  14. Post
Can't say I've ever ridden the first section of Spoonhill, only taken 491. Have heard that spoonhill is a bit of a prick there with all the clay.

  15. Post
Not in the dry it isn't.
Just gotta know how to ride a rut.
It must've had a tickle up since last time I went as it was much easier.
    Just did Spoonhill->McMillans->Scrimms
    Great conditions, oodles of grip.

    Rode Miramar earlier on too.
Must've been because I was chasing my mate down Jailbreak coz I had a much better time than last.
The switchbacks didn't seem like a chore.
    Scoped out Topatopa too.
    Boy that was sketch.
Binned it in the first corner like a mong.
    Skipped that drop too.
Some of those chutes were pretty rad.
    Deffo needs practice and commitment.

My legs are absolute toast after 8 rides in 7 days.
Never been more happy to box the bike up.
Love riding me some home trails

  17. Post
You just want to take me down Peak Flow I bet.

It's the secret trap for unsuspecting out of towners.

Any of you Wellington folks doing the Wainui enduro?

  19. Post
    Nope

Scheduled in for the Karapoti Classic however.
