You should record your attempt at removing the filter.

That way when you fail, your rage face will be come the next youtube hit.

Not really, I still do love it. Having no glare is epic.

But I would like to see how much better it apparently (according to the form linked) actually is.
Bit risky as I assume it's irreversible?

It is a bit risky... More than I am willing to take on new monitors I think maybe when they are a year or so old.

Apparently there are companies around than can put a new AG coating on, so assume they could take it off as well?

Unsure if any such company operates in NZ though.

I think my worst fear would be DoA or dead pixels.

Most credit cards offer this protection. Mine offers insurance on online purchases up to $1000.
Company seems fairly reputable, wouldn't be worried about them not sending anything - more like the product arriving faulty.

no idea, old dell 24" s-pva could only do 63hz so I'll take what I can get.

    iphone4 pics

Ordered on Sunday evening, arrived the following Friday morning.
packaging on arrival, nicely bubble wrapped

declared as a monitor with a value of $50 usd

    unboxing

2 thumbscrews to lock into stand

1080p video on native res, pic doesn't do justice

no dead pixels as far as I can tell, $500 well spent'

also the glare is much easier on the eyes than apple screens which are glass reinforced (compared with macbook pro).

regarding OSD, there is none only a simple brightness up and down.

bottom right corner looks slightly brighter by a tiny amount, very very tiny. Can't notice it in normal use.

Is there a way to tell whether that's actually higher than 60hz?

this is what happens when 98hz is attempted

not sure if its true 97hz but smoother than the old 60hz dell.

VA screens , and iirc particularly the Dell 2407/2408 are slower , is Catleap any different at 60hz?

I'll do some hz testing later, there is a slight colour uniformity issue on the lower part of my panel. White turns a little into beige. Other colours seem fine however.
