next gen nvme drives coming soon @6.5GB/s on pcie 4.0

alot of mb's showing up 4666+ (oc) for memory that seems a huge uplift from ~3000/3200 for ryzen 2000

Yeah memory speed boosts will be handy. I've been running 3200 on my ryzen 1000 as long as I can remember now. Given how pricey that memory will be though, i'm not sure how big the improvement will be. I can see the memory companies just creaming it rather than offering up good deals on the fast stuff (that's business). I'm most keen for the IPC and slight core speed increases. Mine maxes out @ 3.8, so Zen 2 should be a nice step up.

Intel wont worry too much until AMD starts eating into their laptop and more importantly server. Server refreshes coming soon tho. Then Intel will pull their pants up and do something. Desktop sales are not the real money maker

Intel hasn't been worrying for years. Look where that got them. AMD server share will increase from here. Intel is taking notice already, just takes a long time to develop competition when you've been idle for years.

These things will run hot and throttle pretty quickly imo. Still, even a short burst of that speed would be good.

I just spent more on similar spec'd but ultimately no-name brand (Patriot) ram. I have also just got an X370 Taichi, PS NVME SSD and ordered a 2600x for $267.

  11. Post
Yeah thats a good price for that ram. Is it B-Die?

I have that in my system, and was going to buy some more for shits and giggles (don't actually need it) but the price is supposed to bottom out in Q4 according to some analysts.

Good to know, if that kit hits $100 - $120 NZD landed then why not have 32GB of fast ram.

USD most likely. It was at the AMD e3 show.

sounds fancy. Suspect the 3700x is still the value option
