ofc, basically I'm just saying that the game isn't completely ignored on gp, and you are welcome to head over for discussion or whatever if this thread doesn't gather interest

edit: ok reading through the ps4 thread it's definitely pretty quiet there as well

Played a bit on ps4 last night with a couple of the gp guys, I want to love the game but at the moment it doesn't grab me and over the years it never really has. I have tremendous respect for the game and I love how passionate the devs and community are, the update certainly looks amazing and looking forward to seeing it grow further.

i was playing on ps4 version not pc, maybe its popular on pc - I do find f2p games tend to be more popular on pc than other platforms

i was running through the tutorial area to get through it fast and i went into rooms and enemies just appeared on top of me on a few occasions

anyway, its not really my thing, i dont like f2p games anyway - they tend to be more grindy than pay to play

I drop in and out of it, manly due to having other games to play. the one thing that I want to see is a reset of some sort... I have a thing for starting over in games, and its the only thing that erks me a bit. For some reason, I really want to restart from day dot. But I don't really want a second account to keep track off ether...

I'm still playing it off and on. It can definitely get quite fun and addictive when you get into it, but I don't have the same ability of some gamers to consistently stick with a forever grind without burning out.

Still, the Pillars of Eidolon I think are being a little bit overhyped for what it is. Essentially its another player hub like the relays, with some merchants and quest givers hanging about, from which you can walk out the gates to go into your own mission instance without a loading screen. The map is much more open when compared to the corridors we're used to, but it still is essentially a 4 player instance and its only 3km^2 so you'll see it all pretty quick. Yet there are players who seem to think this will transform the game into some massive open world MMO

I don't think it needs to be GTA or JC big though. Most of the time, really BIG locations just become there own kind of corridor. Open world means open space, not the biggest map ever, and a smaller place would be better in a lot of cases, as they would be able to make that area feel a lot better than it the same size space in other games, especially with how there development of Warframe is being done. And its only one location. Its not going to be EVERY place in the game, and I don't expect it to be. But its still a big step for a game like Warframe that is basically being funded by the players them self.

The most fundamentally lacking aspect of this game for me is the combat.
I am old, jaded and cynical these days though so you'll have to forgive me.

In what way is the combat lacking to you out of interest?

It's just a lot of gotta go fast hack'n'slash spamming with very mediocre shooting gun play. And if that's what people enjoy then that's fine for them.
I just think it is possible to have a space ninja style game with unique melee and gun play combat.

All Melee weapons have stances based on what type they are, and each stance has there own combos.

Gun play is down to the weapon you have, as there are bows, throwing knifes, single and auto shots, along with some of them even having secondary attacks. It should also be pointed out that the mod system is pretty versatile when it comes to kiting out your gear.

Ok guys, they bought out the new page explaining everything coming with PoE on line.

    https://www.warframe.com/plains-of-eidolon-update

Most interesting thing, I think, is the new mod sets... That will make things more interesting with mod builds. Plus the new frame looks dope (They have said the quest will be late for it though, due to voice actor times not lining up. You will be able to get the parts for the frame though, so once you get the BP from the quest, your good to go :P).

I like the Idea of Mod sets, but looking at the ones they have they are woefully underpowered considering the mod space you are giving up for them. Eg the Gladiator set, you have to find space for 3 melee mods and 3 Frame mods to gain a set bonus that is less powerful than one existing melee uncommon (Blood Rush). The trade off as it stands just is not worth it, they would need a significant buff to make them worthwhile.

Loving POE so far, it's shameful how good this free update is compared to some paid DLC's out there!

Also if anyone wants a team up for some bounty action (cause damn some of those are hard, especially drone escort) my IGN is Predatory

Is anyone still playing this? I've come back to it after years and it's pretty confusing.

How do I get vaulted parts? Do people actually sell then?

you can only get vaulted parts via trading with other players for platinum or a piece they want.
or by running the missions if you have the relics that have the vaulted parts as one of the possible drops.

they do open the vaults up every now and then.

Is there an official/unofficial place for trading other than the in game chat? Might be worth seeing if I have anything worth $$.

Edit: At the moment I'm just going to finish all the quests and planets and, that's the right move yeah?

can use either of the following to check prices etc before asking in chat if anyone is wts them etc.
    http://wftrading.net/
    https://warframe.market/

and yeah, finish the planet nodes/quests and be in a clan if possible. as you will need to be in one to do any trading anyway. unless the other person in the trade is in one and is going to invite you into it to do the trade.

also use this if you get a bit stuck looking for stuff.

    Cheers!

You guys got any advice or items worth going for? Someone in game told me the Opticor was good so might build that next.

Getting the Archwing now, and tried the Open World area once but want to save it for later. WOW does it look nice, the atmosphere is incredible. You're moving through the grass and then suddenly stumble into an enemy patrol and then there's aircraft doing strafing runes and dropping off more troops. So cool.

Primaries: Vaykor Hek/Sancti Tigris are good, Lenz is godly if you don't mind exploding yourself. Arca Plasmor or Astilla are both fun and can do sortie 3 with some forma. Braton prime is easily farmed and is pretty solid throughout the game with one or two forma. Opticor is fun but it does need a few specific mods to make it work. Early game Sobek and Hek are good picks if you can get their syndicate mods

Secondaries: Vaykor Marelok is insane, Akstilleto Prime is solid, Rakta Ballistica is also a solid pick - Early game the Aklex, Vasto and Magnum are all good choices but get outpaced later on, so I wouldn't dump a lot into them

Melee: Galatine Prime and Atterax are both blenders that can destroy rooms easily, although atterax does need a bit of forma to get there. Other good picks are Jat Kittag, Dragon Nikana, Sancti Magister. Kronen and Fragor are good early game and Mios is good mid game.

Best strat to start farming corrupted/nightmare mods/better gear is to get Rhino, a Fragor and a Hek/Sobek Shotty, they will do well on 1-45 level star chart missions as you farm up good mods (damage mods, multishots etc) Once you've done that you should have a good grasp on what works for you. also do second dream quest as soon as you can (cause it's good and you get a decent weapon out of it!)

I would not worries about going for any particular item at the start. You need to max level everything at least once anyway to get your Mastery Rank up, so the best way to go is just to play the game, buy the Blue Prints off the market, and build what you can when you can. I have 1000+ hours in the game, and I am yet to get everything, so don't worries to much.

The other side of that, is that there really is no 'best' weapon. All gear is viable, its just a matter of modding them properly.

Posted this in the ps forum :

So i understand you need to access Cetus in order to get to the PoE.

Cetus is still locked. Apparently I need to do Saya's Vigil, which involves completing a quest in cetus. However when I make that my active quest it wants me to go to Ceres Junction, which is on Mars, which is also, sure enough, locked.

Looking at the prerequisites I should have done enough to access Cetus, but if not, then I have heaps to do. That's fine, but I still don't know where to start as the first point (Ceres) is locked.

    What do?

Seems like a bug, that entire quest can be completed in Cetus/POE (iirc) and in fact starts in Cetus from Konzu (the bounty guy)

The only thing you should need to do to access Cetus is to get to Earth.

That doesn't sound entirely right. I thought the pre-req quest was just the starting Captain Vor one.
