Alright WTB: Jay White BC shirt.

It's cool as **** having a few Kiwis doing so well.

Shane McMahon best in the world? Kill me pls.

Wrestling is so much better if all you watch is NXT

  4. Post
But then you'd be missing NJPW which is on par if not better.

205 live is also low key a pretty damn good show lately.

  5. Post
Don't have enough time to watch another federation let alone try and read up on the 8 hours of WWE a week.

WIsh Brock would **** off too

Brock is like Randy. When they give a **** they are great but when they don't .... You get 10 Germans from Brock and chin locks from Randy.

Kenny Omega signed to AEW, pretty big.

  15. Post
As if he was signing anywhere else.

  16. Post
Maybe, but it's still a huge blunder on NJPW's part. Goodbye hopes and dreams of major western expansion.

  17. Post
Hardly a blunder. I don't think there was anything they could do to stop it. The elite was pretty vocal about not splitting up. Shit was set in stone.

They elected to not work with AEW, and continue the relationship with the dying ROH. There's not much they could have done to keep The Elite on contract with NJPW, but there is a lot more they could have done to try and transition more smoothly from literally losing all of their top western stars from their product at the same time.

This from the company who happily partnered with GFW.

From a business stand point why would they partner with them? AEW is direct competition. Gonna hurt there America push.

Why would they partner with ROH and in days gone by TNA and GFW? Because it gets their Japanese stars screentime in front of non-NJPW viewers. Specifically they would partner with AEW because it maintains their ability to continue and resolve the programs they currently have ongoing while exposing their next generation of gaijin to a wider western audience.

For example, they could have still used Kenny going forward and eventually had him lose a big program to Jay White as an example. Yes, Jay has a win over Kenny however that was hardly a proper 'passing of the torch' storyline.

Yeah but those companies are all small time and no threat. AEW is a big time player when it comes to signing talent. Hell they have been pretty vocal about pay and have been signing people like crazy. They have taken a lot of NJPW talent already. Plus their up coming TV deal is a massive threat to business in the west. They are going to hurt TNA like crazy I think.

Just like WWE, when you have the big funding, you play around with small time companies, but not the direct competition. AEW/NJPW fall into that territory. Remember WWE and NJPW use to be friends before NJPW got big, Vince wanted in on that japan money.

Anyway NJPW haven't said 100% no yet. Like a lot of people they are taking the wait and see approach. Though I doubt it will happen, Shit has changed backstage in NJPW. Full business mode.
