I'd just like to point out that only riot and LoL players use MOBA. DoTA is an AoS.

They can call it whatever they want, pretty much everyone calls them all of them MOBA.

AoS (Aeon of Strife) is a map name. That's a silly name for a genre.

I play DOTA, HoN, LoL, Infinite Crisis, Smite and a number of other similar titles.

I'm going to go with MOBA over AoS.

The primary issue I have with MOBA is that it literally could describe any online multiplayer game. I've called the map style AoS since I can remember, I don't believe naming a genre after the defining map is any more silly than something as stupidly catch-all.

    This.

I've never heard anyone call it an AoS.

    Most people call it MOBA.

i dont think anyone calls Dota an AoS.

The term Valve wanted to use was ARTS (Action Real Time Strategy) but its not flying the way they hoped :P
