    hmm

Seems good. Memory running in single channel mode with one stick seems a bit odd though. I assume it's the same as desktops for single / dual channel setups.

still $700 too much, plus it only has 11GB of VRAM, practically useless for the most demanding games going forward.

  6. Post
Could end up dropping some more just give it time

11gb is still fine, highest iv seen is 8 or 9gb used and that was on a game using a 50gb 4K texture pack
Everything else gets nowhere near it - it’s a bit like saying 16gb system RAM is useless going forward when it’s still fine for now

Ps5 and Xbox one 2 is coming, when they do gpus will all move to 16gb vram but that is probably 1 year away and at that point we’ll have Navi 7nm and Nvidia 7nm anyway

If you intend to only make future proofed purchases wait till 2020 before you buy anything because there are several big changes arriving within 6 to 12 months that affects everything from GPUs to CPUs, RAM and even monitors and tvs

Even with AMDs disappointing Ryzen 3000 numbers at ces I’m probably going to hold off now as well
No more hardware purchases until next year and then probably build a new rig using all the new technology

You do realise you watched a mid range ryzen (5) beat the flagship i9?

How do we know it’s a Ryzen 5?
AMD didn’t show single core ipc test that’s what I wanted to see
The multi core stuff doesn’t interest too much
The flagship i9 is also a disappointment as it’s pretty much has the same ipc as a 7700k

Reddit users done some reverse engineering on the scores and estimated the cpu shown has the same ipc
As the 9900k, but this is assuming the clockspeeds which weren’t shown as the same as the leaks
I was hoping for a significant boost over the 9900k

It's an 8 core CPU with enough room for another 8core cpu on the same chip. AMD has tweeted that that extra room will be used.... Mate.
AMD has vastly superior SMT (hyper threading) than Intel so I would guess that the Intel single thread IPC is better (guessing because we don't know the clock speed) but who gives a shit about single thread IPC. This is 2019 not 2010

That is a great deal, can't even get it from Amazon for that. I already have one, but it is tempting.

Better to go for smaller size with better quality

  24. Post
I'd buy it because it's huge. Yeah you can get a better quality 55" screen for similar (and more) money, but it's only 55". Sony units seem to be pretty decent overall. I run a 60" screen and want to go bigger. 2c

If it is your main TV, i'd personally spend the extra $400 and get the 65" X9000F - which is one of the best bang for buck models available.
