Wagner has never really amazed me sure he runs in hard and is aggressive and thats generally peoples argument for him he doesn't do enough I mean the writings on the wall since he had to leave SA an come here to have ago at internatonal level.

He has his days and hes hardly played much of late but I never really see anything fro him that screams amazeballs.
You could say the same thing about Kevin Pietersen and Jonathan Trott, they both 'had to leave SA' to play Test cricket, and are both amongst the best players England has had in a generation. Wagner is the ideal foil to our opening pair, so while his stats are not as outstanding as those two, it's the combination of the 3 into one bowling unit that works so well.

Also just be cause hes doing an 'ok' job doesn't mean we persist with him I mean what so you're quite comtempt in persisting with Wagner who is average at best and holding someone back who could be leaps and bounds better which in this case is Henry?
When a guy spends a year averaging 23 for his country, I don't really care if he doesn't scream amazeballs. He's effective, he played in 3 out of our 5 wins last year and his fourth game was in a draw that we almost won. He's the guy you go to knowing he'll find a way when the ball isn't moving.

And yes, you do hold back players if your three seamers are all averaging under 25 when primarily, the seamers you've selected for the past ten years are 30-33 in average.

No way am I advocating the dropping of Southee/Boult even Bracewell/Wagner... but I still think Henry is very close, he's the next cab off the ranks for sure and offers something different to those two.

Also seeing how he went in England last year, he could be extremely potent over there with a bit of zip and movement, he'd be in my squad.

Keep Henry an ODI specialist for now paired up with McClenaghan its our ODI verson of Boult/Southee

Tricky toss tomorrow. History says bat and go get 320, but results show NZ have been put in to bat and posted 200ish scores and were chased down with absolute ease.

D/L may come into play tomorrow night, rain radar has shifted from 10pm to 7pm. SL have too much firepower for a quick chase if necessary...

ACC didn't disappoint yesterday - 'commentators curse' was unreal and loved Jeremys 'Pokies' story

My favourite was Leigh Hart's story about his first threesome in Hamilton.
