Do you feel it is a replacement for tethered VR? What is the quality of the apps etc. like?

    Agreed.

Mine arrived today. Thought it was going to be another week as the tracking this morning still said singapore. But nope, notification in the afternoon. Went home to catch the delivery and I have it.

I was worried the lower refresh rate might make me VR sick as I'm pretty damn sensitive to it. But nope, all is good.

It's so damn fast to setup the guardian system in a new area. Played Vader Imortal in the lounge, then went and sat by my computer with the power plugged in and played some Moss. After dinner sat on the counch playing a bit of Moss while my girlfriend watched on her phone. Then stood up, and reset the guardian for roomscale in seconds to play some super hot, no need to even take the headset off.

My only gripe is it's pretty uncomfotable. It's about the same as a basic vive strap but the headset is heavier so it's even more unpleasant. Going to try using a battery pack on the back as a counter weight when it arrives (hopefully tomorrow).

Also has a couple of (apparently) software issues like occaional crackle in the audio. But overall it's a pretty excellent device.

VR desktop... 3D porn on a 20 foot screen: 2 thumbs up

You can literally lay down in bed with a 20 foot screen on the ceiling.

VR desktop is such a good little app.

Apparently a 3DOF setting is coming to the quest, might upgrade after all

The only ceiling video I have bothered with over the last year is of the Netflix variety. Seems like a downgrade for porn, when you can watch it in VR from a first person perspective instead...

Pretty desperate to get my hands on a VR gun stock for Pavlov/Contractors/Onward (I'm using Rift CV1).

Can anyone give me any tips about the best way to achieve this in NZ without crippling my bank.
    - Have found a 3d printed options that shipping included would come to about $100 (from Poland).
    - Protube would end up being a few hundred
    - There's a decent design available but I have no experience with 3d printing (yet): https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2828833

Any tips welcome, esp if anyone is selling one or wants to print one for $$

This is easily my most anticipated game at the moment, even though this video is mostly about showing off the Index controllers.

Maybe I am getting old, but I could only watch about 5 min of that video before deciding the level of violence was just too much. I don't mind shooting zombies, ghouls and mutants on Fall Out 4 VR, but this is next level, the bit with hitting it over the head with the baseball bat got me.

Well they are just demoing what the physics system is capable of, you don't have to play it that way. I suggest you stay away from Blade and Sorcery if you didn't like the above.

It is definitely a thing though with how much more realistic these games are getting in VR.

Will do, I think I am just getting soft these days.

Anyone got the Rift S and want to chime in on it, I have been playing a little with my CV1 and notice that there isn't a massive upgrade from the DK2 in terms of SDE. It is better, and as I can run higher settings since upgrading my CPU it is better but in racing games it is definitely noticeable.

This site is a good way to keep tabs on all sales and free weekends for steam VR games. I've missed a lot of free weekends as I usually find out days or weeks after they've passed through blogs but this steamdb site is updated live, I've sorted by price so free weekend games are highlighted at the top when they're on: https://steamdb.info/sales/?min_disc...z&category=102

Once they get the 180/360 3D vids to 16k res VR will really start to take off.
