@ JRS, Hmmm $30? Maybe not even that.. Seriously digital is me, buy physical in then my brother won't be able to play it on his PS4. So it'll totally have to be quite a bit under half price for me to even consider it.

i'll keep you very low offer in mind :P i'm giving the game a bit more of a chance. it definite gets much better when you start racing your own cars and you have to pay for damage repairs out of your own pocket.

the online is still disappointing. i don't like how you cant see what track the events are on to practice. it's also annoying when you want to do an online event but your car for that class is half way through a championship... you cant use it and have to buy something else.

tarmac handling seems wrong. and way to much grip in the rain. you pretty much can not understeer on tarmac even in the rain. it just turns.

also, i found out my left stick is stuffed when setting up my controls. it's been driving me crazy on gt sport for ages that my car doesn't want to turn sometimes on sharp lefts. i thought it was some bug with the game but no, my left stick is putting out gibberish on full left.
i've got around it by adjusting so i only need to move it about 80% to get to full lock. gonna get me one of those sexy midnight blue controllers.!

My limited edition PS4 controller, which I like never used, turning to the right is half speed... Yep it really does suck lol

The RWD Renault Alpine seems Impossible to drive on tarmac. If you touch the brakes it's an instant spin. Does anyone have any set up advice?
& you can't use the same car in two events at the same time. You have to retire from one event to use the car in another. It's stupid.

change your brake saturation in advanced settings to 150. it will limit your braking to 2/3 of max. i can even play with ABS off just fine after doing this.

just when your starting to have fun with the game it throws a night plus heavy rain stage at you. the rain looks like ps2 rain. you cant see jack shit witht he headlights shining on it. in poland when it's fast and narrow... forget about it!

it's basically like doing sweden in dirt rally 1 but you can only see 3 car lengths ahead.

Hehe cool you can now race in a car with my name on it.

I've been playing a bit of GT Sport and Dirt Rally 2.0 lately. I'm really surprised there isn't more organised communities around racing games in NZ, seems like a great candidate for online leagues etc, looks to be a growing eSport genre also.

Is anyone aware of any NZ-based communities for racing games that perhaps I just didn't find when googling? There look to be a few Australian sites, but generally interested in knowing if there is anything NZ-based specifically.

Bought a PS4 Pro last week with GT Sport and loving the game. There are a few groups on facebook but are normally using rfactor. I used to jam Assetto Corsa with a bunch of aussie guys which was cool fun

Bought a T300rs and t3pa pro pedals - anyone done any mods to the pedals?

  15. Post
Nope, not me. But one thing to watch on those pedals is the little plastic cog that's gets smooshed by friction/long use. I destroyed the cog for my brake pedal during a 3 hours Project Cars 2 session, and didnt have a spare set to fix it like this guy did. https://www.racedepartment.com/threa...pedals.145771/

Ideally that part should be made of steel in the same way the cog edge of the pedal has been done, but I dont believe they've made any revisions to the manufacturing process since I bought mine a few years back.

Even Dirt Rally is $10.00. How good is 2.0 in comparison to the first?

There are a few cars and tracks still missing from the first. Rumored to be coming. And No hill climb which is a shame as I loved it. Also the leagues/clubs feature is still not implemented.

Overall it's better in my opinion. I have not loaded DR1 since I bought it. Lots more upgrades per car, more tracks, more cars, better graphics. Still brutally punishing. Codemasters communication is terrible still though but at the 50% off price I reckon its a steal for deluxe edition.

Many say the FFB and physics were better in DR1. I think the FFB comment is true but I threw a MK2 escort down 10 minutes of gravel the other day in DR2 and had a ball. Codies reckon they're still working on the FFB.

FFB update was released around a week or so ago.

    Hey multi platform racers.

Have any of you tried this? https://collectiveminds.ca/shop/allconsoles/drivehub/

Itís an adaptor that coverts your wheels input to a non matching console. Basically it looks like itíd covert a G29 signal to a G920 signal for example so you can use your PS spec wheel on Xbox and vice versa. Along with many other common wheels of course.

For those that have any input lag etc?

^ I'm sure someone else mentioned that earlier in the thread.

I was planning on getting one before I sold my racing rig, they look pretty good from the reviews I've seen.

A slight improvement but Tarmac (specifically spain) is lifeless (on my G27 at least).
Just doesn't seem to be much of a road feel on tarmac. Gravel is fine.

    Funny story:
I opted for the soft tires (instead of wets) on a wet tarmac stage in the MK2 escort (as the next one was dry) and regretted everything for 15mins using up all my restarts trying to finish the stage, and was still down 2minutes on the leader. I used up my tire changes so couldn't go back. All I could do was laugh at my own misfortune and learn from the experience.

Seems I cant actually see our existing clubs. Rejoining does nothing. If I join a new one it comes through fine.
