    I YOLO'd the following:

    - AMD Ryzen 5 3600
    - Asus x570 PRIME
    - G.Skill Trident Z 16Gb 3200Mhz
    - EVGA CLC 280

    to replace:

    - i5 4790 (non-k)
    - ADATA 32Gb 1600mhz
    - Gigabyte Z87
    - Corsair H115 (doesn't have AM4 mounting)

    Probably could have waited another year or two, but YOLO.

    Damn. That rig you are replacing is also epic. I'd ask why but this is a YOLO thread after all so well done sir, well done.

    16 cores > 6 cores, nuff reason right there if you have the money to burn.

    Nice build Grim. Changing from one 360 AIO to another seems a bit silly though. Arent they essentially the same AIO?

    Probably the same, I lost the AM4 brackets for the old one so it only fits on Intel boards.

    Ah lame, that's a costly am4 bracket then haha

    Ended up doing a yolo build with minimal research to upgrade my well aged rig.

    Went from:

    * Intel Core i5 3570K
    * ASUS P8Z77-V Intel Z77 DDR3
    * CoolerMaster Hyper 212
    * Mushkin Blackline FrostByte 8GB
    * Samsung 840 Series 120GB SSD
    * ASUS Radeon HD7970 Direct CU II TOP 3GB
    * Fractal R4

    to a mini-itx build with:

    * Ryzen 3800X
    * 16GB Corsair Vengeance RGB
    * ASUS RTX 2060 Super
    * ASUS ROG Strix B450-I Mini-ITX
    * Samsung Evo 970 500GB M.2 NVME
    * NZXT Kraken X52 RGB
    * NZXT H210

    Couldn't be happier

    Doing a new build and have so far yolo’d the following

    *R9 3950X
    *Gigabyte Auros Xtreme RTX 2080ti
    *(x2) Asus TUF VG27AQ 165hz 1440p monitors

    I’ve got other odds and ends but they ain’t yolo purchases.
    Next few weeks I’ll pull together a mobo, psu, case, and a couple m.2 ssd’s and look into cpu and gpu water blocks and full loop or may just go the AIO route.

    Ram and storage I’ll recycle from current build.

    why 2 screens instead of 3?

  13. Post
    Or ultrawide for max epeen.

  14. Post
    I sacrificed the disco lights to get the 2nd monitor, but we all know a pc build ain’t dripping without the rgb, but hey, it is what it is.

    I'm not sure how two of those make any sense

  16. Post
    it doesn’t need to make sense to you.

    I'm about to order two identical builds but need a check that everything lines up. I haven't done a PC build in maybe 5 years so a little out of date with stuff.

    Will be replacing the 3900X in at least one of the machines with a 3950x in a few months.

    Light gaming with some work stuff mixed in.

    Have I missed anything?

    Why the Meshify C? No itx cases take your fancy?

    If you like ITX cases

    That GPU is going to be quite snug in the case, GPU i have is only 2cm longer and I cannot fit a fan on the inside chassis of the case

  21. Post
    That comparison is poorly done - they don't consider anything over 8 threads for the headline number.

    When they do (see "64 core speed") the 3950X wins by +169%.

    Just that this is the YOLO thread and not the PC build thread. Builds look fine, no idea why you'd not just get one 3950X now rather than in a future upgrade.

    Yeah I know it's only 2cm of clarence, people on the web seem to squeeze it in though.

    Didn't look very hard to be honest, any recommendations?

    My thread posting knows no bounds.

    Didn't go straight for the 3950X at the moment as I'm not 100% sure I need that much power at home right now. I'm also buying two of everything so the hurts the bank a little more.

    Only have experience with the NZXT h200, you'd need a blower style GPU though else it'll suffer.

    Else maybe something like the Corsair 280x?

    SFX PSU will need an adapter bracket in a Meshify.
