Flirting with the idea of migrating to a micro-atx case, just because my R5 is pretty much empty with a single SSD and one GPU.

What are go-to micro-atx cases at the moment?
Been thinking more about this. What I'm after in a case:

    - smaller footprint than a mid tower (so I can sit it close to my monitor on my desk)
    - a side window (so I can see all my gear)
    - long enough to fit big GPU's (980 ti)
    - removable or no optical drive bay (probably won't use one anymore)
    - removable HDD bays (probably won't use HDD anymore, just stick with SSD)
    - more quiet focussed than cooling (don't need heaps of fans/fan mounts)
    - no massive fan vents that aren't covered with a dust filter
    - decent cable management (enough cutouts and space between the panels)

The cases that I've seen so far that can manage all that are:

    - Corsair Air 240
    - Fractal Design 804

There are some other cool cases in the mini ITX, like the NZXT Manta, or the Define Nano, but dunno if I want to go down to a mini ITX....what will I be missing out on? Only enough room for one dual slot GPU?

    Tis a nice mini ITX.

I'd consider the 350D if it wasn't for the top fan grill. Hate that with a passion.

pIc failed but i managed to see what you were talking about, it comes with a magnetic cover man. So it doesn't look like that as standard, and if you need one i have a spare haha

Oh, for real? Why would they even show photos of it without the cover as the default?

Like for the R5, you can take off the moduvents, but they don't show them in promo pics because it looks rubbish lol!

I like the Evolve, but in black I was sort of limiting my selection from CL, so didn't see that model.

    P50 looks ok.

    TJ08E is ugly....

Manta is a nice case. More expensive due to the steel construction?

Maybe or just because it's nzxt.

It's nice but also ugly at the same time

    It's different

The curved edges are an acquired taste I reckon.

Define Nano S isn't a bad alternative to the Manta and about $70 cheaper.

I think I'll just wait and see what happens with the 1080's before deciding what to do next

Ended up buying a smaller Desk and Mobile for my home setup. So also now looking at going for a smaller case, possibly MATX to sit on top of the desk or the mobile.

Was eyeing up the ASUS Gryphon motherboard, but see that they can't be ordered new anymore and that there doesn't seem to be an equivalent for socket 1151. Couldn't find any on trademe either

Are there any other nice Z97 boards that can still be bought new?

Thinking about building a 2nd PC. Used a techguru buyers guide as template for an ultimate mini itx build.

Any reason you're not getting a Samsung SSD?

Also, you can get better than Strix for the money, unless you specifically need it's two hdmi outputs.

Other than that, looks like a mini beast.
