All they need for starters is a decent racing game. Nice and simple and will get people adjusted to the headset before they take on a potentially nauseating game like Rigs.

I'm not surprised that it doesn't have the killer app yet, but I am surprised at how much well received content there is thus far.

There is usually a time between launch and the must play games on new generations, and this is a whole new platform. It's just a question of if they bring the first must play early enough to not already be in a tail spin.

I just hope it doesn't go the same way as the Sixaxis controller; nothing but tech demos, until Lair game out, which was generally regarded as rubbish..... subsequent death of the control format.

Sure, that others like Oculus and HTC with the Vive are getting behind VR is a reassuring aspect, but it's still making me reticent about blazing ahead. Would prefer to wait to see if it gets decent support from developers for fully fledged games, and perhaps a hardware revision, before jumping in.

In saying that though, all it will take is one full game with decent VR integration and i'm in. Driveclub VR maybe?

the x-wing vr mission for battlefront could have been the killer app if it was a full game. That would have sold millions on its own.

I wonder if the head tracking could be used to supplement using a right stick on a controller, do the bulk off camera movement on the stick but using your HMD for fine aim.

Whats the killer app on the other VR headsets? Except all that VR porn on the net, PSVR has a better list of games so far.

Yeah, i guess that could work - i use inverted controls on the right stick, which i think would help with that; like the stick is your head, so you push forward to look down, etc. I think there'd be less a of a disconnect than with users who don't invert the right stick.

Still going to be a big disconnect between the sense of moving about a landscape but you're sitting in a chair. That's why VR seems best suited to racing/flight sim games. I suppose you could just pretend you're actually in a little mech when you're playing an FPS? IDK.

true in the terms of no killer app, but i sure as hell want one for white day remastered

original is still one of my top horror games but has sooooo many issues on modern OS's and newer GPU's and runs like relative ass
