Exclusives are utter shit, be they platform-exclusive games, DLCs for multi-platform games, retailer exclusive DLCs, pre-order exclusive DLCs, etc. All publishers need to GTFO with this noise!

Agreed, exclusives can go die in a fire

However they will never go away, simply because exclusives is where the console owner can really rack up the profits.

Sony for instance made bucketloads of money from Uncharted 4 as compared to any multi plat game

1st/2nd party exclusive games are a necessary evil for sure. I will calmly accept their existence because need those in-house studios pushing the envelope to make system sellers for console gamers. 3rd party exclusives and platform exclusive DLCs however? They should go DIAF!

That being said if first/second party titles were on PC though there wouldn't be much cannibalisation of console hardware platforms. There will always be PC gamers who don't give two shits about owning a console and vice versa for console audiences. This is why MS is still making Xbox consoles rather becoming solely a game software publisher. Killer Instinct and Forza 6 Apex has shown that Xbox Anywhere games can be successful when MS don't bollocks up the PC ports.
