Hard to tell how good we are going to be from our two pre-season demo jobs defending the Ranfurly Shield against 2nd division teams, but looking forward to our 9th title in the last 10 years and you lot moaning

Yeah, all squads tend to have a lot of new players playing in those early pre-season games so very hard to get a gage on how good teams are, hahaha, yeah we do get peeved off with Cant winning all the time, but if Wgtn was going for a 9th title in 10 years I'd be winding up supporters of all the other teams a bit too

Great having some of the really experienced blokes coming back, the young fellas coming through in this comp can learn a hell of a lot from them.

If we can't have him back this season, then neither can you it seems:
    All Blacks wrote:
Jordie Barrett is to have surgery for a shoulder injury and is out of rugby for the rest of the season. He has been replaced in the All Blacks squad by Crusaders and Tasman back David Havili. Barrett hurt his shoulder in the Hurricanes semifinal clash against the Lions.

    WGTN 15:

Reggie Goodes (is he back from injury? Canes missed him this season)
    Asafo Aumua
    Jeffery To’omaga-Allen
    Isaia Walker - Leawere
    Sam Lousi
    James Blackwell
Greg Foe (this guy is pretty kak though but we don't really have any other opensides)
    Brad Shields
    Kemara Hauiti-Parapara
    TJ Va’a
    Julian Savea
    Malo Tuitama
    Matt Proctor
    Wes Goosen
    Peter Umaga-Jensen

I suspect though we'll use Sheridan Rangihuna & Jackson Garden-Bachop at 9 & 10, and maybe Dan Kirkpatrick, who are all average players.

Ben Lam & Carlos Price are great back reserves. I think as usual though our forward reserves aren't very strong. The starting 8 is much better than we normally put out though (except for no real 7).

    ABs
    Dane Coles
    Vaea Fifita
    TJ Perenara
    Ardie Savea

Yeah, we look pretty weak at 9 & 10... Shields always gives it 100% hopefully the rest of the pack consistently do the hard yakka too, if we don't compete well in the forwards we will be staying in the Championship for yet another ****in' season, great to have Goodes back, Canes really missed him & Coles.

I find it strange that Wellington is still in the 2nd division, given you won the Super Rugby title last year.

But then I found this, which explains the frustration with being a Wellington supporter and why you don't like us:

And there doesn't look like much chance of us losing the Ranfurly Shield either till the late rounds, looking at our schedule for the season /Gollum

No doubt it's pretty pathetic that a province as big as Wgtn is still in the 2nd division, prefer to call it the Championship though, that way it doesn't sound as bad

Yeah, don't need reminding of all those finals we've lost in, very frustrating, unfortunately a lot of our performances throughout the years have come down to our old achilles heel of not having good forwards packs most of the time, this is why Cant/Crusaders have won so many titles, really struggle to think of your mob ever having a weak pack.
