Monday night is my Orville/Discovery night. The Orville annoys me, but I tolerate it, then Discovery makes me feel happy again.

Lol, yeah Mondays are usually good for that. You've got you're 1 or 2 bad shows to watch first then 1 or 2 good ones to watch, it's a nice balance.

****ing hell, give this show a main plot. Seriously.

Does it need one? I quite enjoy the randomness. Especially the latest concept of vote justice, keeping me entertained anyway.

That was like a Black Mirror episode. It was quite serious throughout and when it did bring in humour it seemed misplaced.

I've decided I'm just taking this show at face value, episode by episode. Trying to get anything of substance from it is going to be futile.

It was very modern take on the original Star Trek social commentary, not the later series that were super PC, I loved it.

I actually really liked it too - thought the whole "the majority decide"/"but what about the truth?" was quite well done. I do also like how they don't just solve everything, just plant the seed and then leave that world to sort itself out.

E09 drifted into straight up comedy and a Macfarlane showpiece.

I was going to moan about it, but then I remembered that both TNG, Voyager and DS9 all did fluff episodes from time to time.

The one where the doc chick and her kids got lost initially seemed like a ‘nothing’ episode, then I realised it was about Isaac learning about teh hoomans along with a riff on not being a pushover as a parent.

The next one with Rob Lowe as the blue guy was pretty funny.

Was that the one with the upvote badges?
It was exactly like a Black Mirror episode... so much so that you'd have thought they wouldn't have made it if they'd seen BM first.

Didn't like the upvote episode. Haven't watched one since.

I quite liked the episode with the robot and the two kids.

Seth MacFarlane's acting sucks though. Once you notice that he sighs after almost every line he delivers it's very difficult to un-see.

Well, season 2 didn't exactly kick off with a hiss and a roar.

If this show came out late 90s/ early 00s. It would have been a hit.

First episode of season 2 was super boring. Thankfully the second episode was amusing. Hopefully we get some sci fi next episode.

Just watched s2e5 (the astrology episode) and it annoyed me that they were orbiting that planet for a month yet at no point did any of them say "why don't we just play along, say we believe it too, and want to extradite them to our own prison".

However, I did find the "you have a kid, any suggestions?" "will there be an egg?" line pretty good.
