Microsoft has already made that offer to Sony, from a rumour last week (to let what is Xbox/PC exclusives launch on PS5 too).

Microsoft just wants to sell games and subscriptions.
Turns out this rumour is true

Microsoft has told Sony it wants to launch Halo, Gears of War and other Microsoft studio games on the PlayStation 5 and 4.

What’s not clear is which titles have they offered - is it future launches or old stuff - like when they offer Halo to Sony, do they just mean the Master Chief Collection or Halo 6, it’s not known Phil was purposefully vague in his answer for this question

I don't think that Sony will say yes, since MS will probably want users to be able to sign into their MS accounts to play the games. I.e. precisely why the cross-platform Minecraft Bedrock isn't on PS4, just the legacy console edition.

At that point why even release a new Xbox?
Because there's still a market for it, duh. Hardcore gamers bought Xb1X to get the best possible experience available on console this gen. Boomer parents buy the Xb1S for their kids because it's typically the cheapest console and/or has the best value retailer bundles on the market.

The 1st party line up didn't start to falter until Spencer came on board.
Terry Myerson f*cked over Xbox post Matrick. They internally called him "The Human Roadblock". He stopped many of Spencer's plans early on and cut Xbox's budgets, hence Scalebound and Phantom Dust remake being cancelled, Lionhead being closed.

Quantum Break is actually quite good IMO. I played through it the other month and liked it enough to get 100% achievements. You should give it a shot if you get the chance (Xb1 or Steam version though. Windows Store version is pure ass.).

The new 1st party acquisitions are irrelevant to the discussion until they actually start releasing software imo. As of right now it doesn't change anything.
Acquired first party games launching this year:- The Outer Worlds and Wasteland 3. The Outer Worlds will probably be better than Sony's entire first party output EVER on PS4 IMO, you've got the original creators of Fallout working on it.

The Outer Worlds and Wasteland 3 are also coming to ps4, so I don't understand the above statement.

Not PS5 news, but since the xbox forum is so dead - may as well post xbox news here too to help them out a bit.

More news today to suggest that Microsoft has changed it's approach for next gen - instead of the two consoles, they will just launch a single model.

They were going to launch a entry 4teraflop model and a big boy 10 teraflop model - the 4 teraflop entry model is the one that has been canned.

The reason given is that developers hated it. Developers has such a bad experience this generation with having to make games work on the base xbox and the one x with such a vast performance difference and they pushed back as they did not want a repeat of this for next gen.

The story quality is comparable to Season 1 of The Walking Dead at best.

TLOU had an awesome story, setting & characters but the gameplay was pretty by the numbers. Was your typical 3rd person cover shooter with stealth elements. Same with Uncharted. I still enjoy those games though & TLOU is still one of my fav console games of all time, its just the actual gameplay isn't that special. Even the gameplay in GoW wasn't as amazing to me as everyone else thinks it is.

Bloodborne shits all over every other exclusive in terms of gameplay & also atmosphere & setting for that matter.

If these APISAK PS5 leaked benchmarks are real - the raw graphics power of the PS5 puts it slightly ahead of a GTX1080/Vega 64.

The scores were found by using a ps5 devkit and benchmarking it on windows using the Firestrike benchmark.
This is without optimization because it's running on Windows and not Linux like the PS5 OS uses

Sony Positions Next PlayStation for Hard-Core Gamers

Sony sees Microsoft as its main competitor in the next generation, with Google a potential threat in the mid- to long-term as internet technology advances, one company official said.Nintendo Co. isn’t perceived as a major rival, the person said, because its main users tend to be younger than PlayStation’s core demographic.

PlayStation has been one of the most successful mass-market products of the past quarter-century; the PlayStation 4 alone is expected to pass 100 million units this year. Sony’s latest thinking puts less stress on overall sales numbers and more on the most-profitable segment of the market: the devoted fans who buy big-budget titles, such as Bethesda Softworks LLC’s “Fallout” series and Take-Two Interactive Software Inc.’s “Red Dead Redemption.”

A second Sony official said the company believes people buy a videogame console to play graphics-heavy games.

Sony is concentrating its attention on large software publishers as it gets ready for the next PlayStation, according to executives at Sony and software makers. In general, publishers want their games on multiple platforms to maximize sales, while console makers look to make deals for exclusive content or an initial period of exclusive sales.

Some executives at smaller game makers say they have felt snubbed by Sony, in contrast to Nintendo. At the Tokyo Game Show in September, Nintendo is supporting events to showcase independent game developers. Sony used to do the same, but isn’t planning to this year, the first Sony official said.

Sony still welcomes games from independent studios, the first Sony official said, but the emphasis is on strengthening relationships with large publishers since resources are limited. The thinking is, the official said, that people buy a console to play high-quality games available only on that platform, not smaller games also available on smartphones.

SIE President says Sony will be going out and buying and starting up new studios in preparation for next gen PS5 games.

Sony wants to make sure it can deliver a consistent lineup of quality exclusive titles to fight off competition from Google stadia

It's quite funny though, they mention Google stadia as the PS5's biggest competitor and never mention Xbox LMAO

Would love to see Sony get Insomniac Games. They basically are 1st party at this point. An acquisition would just make it official. Kojima Productions would be a huge get as well.

But the ps4 pro is an enthusiasts level machine, if the ps5 is more powerful that means the internal components are better, more advanced tech etc...therefore bomb costs increase and then Sony will have to increase price from what the base ps4 retailed for surely?

People are forgetting that there is a new CEO of SIE. Andrew house may have been aiming for a 2020 release and left a detailed plan behind. But the new boss might be bold and ambitious and investors could be hungry for a new piece of hardware to compete with the 1X on a more equal level. The new boss could fast track ps5 even tho that would r be a mistake. radar detector reviews

Also in regards to specs. I see something like this. Live nettv app download

    12-15TF Navi Based GPU
    8 Core Zen based APU @ 2.5/3GHZ
    12-16GB RAM GDDR6
    1TB HDD
    Fall 2019/2020
    $399
    This would be really great!
