    Aerial free setup

    Hi guys,

This might be a dumb question, but has anyone got TV setup Aerial free? Essentially I've moved into a house and it has a dead Aerial so tempted to either fix it or just rip it all off and go Aerial free but just wondering how viable it is? Have got 100/20 fibre so can make use of internet options just not sure what is out there for NZ and everywhere i read talks about getting a Amazon Fire Tv and fudging DNS/ running on a VPN ?_?

Is Freeview available via internet at all? (The only way I know atm is going via the ps4 app, or on a laptop) It would be nice to have a remote for quick flicking channels however i have an old as Plasma TV so maybe technology has changed since then and i need to just get a smart TV? Also i'm only limited to Channel 1,2 and Duke via TVNZ app, but nothing really for TV3 prime and others so does SmartTV's cover that as well and i can just reconfig the remote or something?

    Cheers for the help!

I haven't used broadcast TV in about 6 years. Apartment life, and no external aerial/bunny rabbit doesn't get signal.

I have access to freeview and on demand, but there's shit all to watch on there anyway. Unless you're into your shorty and the cooking shows...

Yeah, it's more just the benefit of having a TV as background noise etc or just putting something on while you do stuff in the background is what i miss. The problem with your own selection is i'd spend 20 minutes just trying to actually find someone i want, where as i just want to emulate the ease of access of turning something on quickly and flicking through to find whatever and leaving it on

I bought the below aerial and it works great. It just sits behind my TV and is so small it's hardly noticable.

Youtube auto play? Background music with slideshow?

You could use kodi/IPTV if you really wanted the free-to-air channels - https://www.matthuisman.nz/2017/06/k...ull-guide.html
