    Man Cave TV

Recommend me a TV for man-cave? Has to be 4K and HDR compliant across 2 HDMI ports. 1k or less if possible, doesnt need to be huge as its just the man-cave, will have xbox one x and ps4 pro plugged in.

    cheers

TCL P4US 55 is a good place to start.

Sweet, forgot about TCL. Almost bought one before settling on the Sony x900E for the lounge. Will go check this out. Do you know if it does HDR across all 3 inputs?

    These are the "detailed specs"

based on those, at least one of the 3 HDMI ports is only HDMI1.4

And the word "HDR" isn't mentioned in the user manual, nor is the specs of each HDMI port

I'd say if you want an absolute answer, find someone who has one but probably you'll need to call up TCL and ask them

edit: I've had a look through several manuals now even the most expensive TCL 85 inch X8 QLED TV makes little mention of HDR outside of the "HDR Premium 1200" marketing terminology used on the product description. Based on what's in the manual I wouldn't even know how to turn HDR on or off or check that's even working since the manual is not very detailed

this might be a better option https://www.jbhifi.co.nz/samsung/sam...led-tv/338872/

55" probably slightly too big for the man cave

There was a pretty sweet looking Toshiba 58 inch for well under a grand recently at the Warehouse but I see it's now gone back to normal price of $1200: https://www.thewarehouse.co.nz/p/tos.../R2505283.html

But if 55 inch is already too big then I guess it's out of the question lol

Unfortunately (and I've ran into this exact issue as well) is TV's under 50 inch are going to be very budget spec as manufacturers keep all the good stuff for 50inch + models

edit: That TCL model also comes in a 50 inch for a bit cheaper to: https://www.jbhifi.co.nz/tcl/tcl-p4u...art-tv/338937/

I wouldn't be too bothered with HDR when your budget is sub 1K. Your results are going to be average at best.

found a nz thread just for discussing tcl panels

    https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.as...177&page_no=15

may pay to ask there if anyone how many ports support hdr on the p4us models
