Watched more of the technical test stream I linked above. Game does look very much like The Division 1 DLC, but with some better UI.

Some interesting new changes but someone commented the devs made The Division 2 to get the game they wanted The Division 1 to be. Which doesn't seem too far off the mark at the moment.

Haven't seen any PvP play, sounds like that is locked until open beta

Open beta has been awesome for me.
Same complaints as most so far, Weapon mods are meh. No AA options. UI needs a tune up.

Loving the gear brands and the options it gives, crafting is improved too.
The extra mission + lvl8 cap were nice, + purples in the loot pool.

Edit. 15hrs played to full good purple gear. I have been hunting rogues and dismantling their gear all afternoon.

Agree no issues with servers and seemed a much smoother experience

Flannel - nice one mate, I haven't even had one purple drop yet!

A tad underwhelmed by the End Game specialisations; that said I do like the grenade launcher. Crossbow and sniper were a bit 'meh'.

I'm getting a lot of CTD at present, but have switched down to DX11 to see if that changes anything.

Anyone for a GP clan when this comes out?

Keep hitting those normal zone gear cases (in the control points) + supply drops. About half of my purples are from those.
Others are mostly from lock picking the DZ chests (apparently lock picking increases gear quality) and 1 stolen from a rogue. Purple extractions get your heart pumping that's for sure.

Nice work, rogues are the bane of my DZ life since all I want to do is bash some named mobs and get loot. I usually get ambushed by rogues during battles with NPCs so good to see rogue hunters around these parts.

Funny story, this particular guy kept looking for me and killing me yesterday. He probably used to spawn camp and kill back in Div 1 as he tried to do it to me yesterday once. He probably forgot there were auto turrets and died trying to get me. I got his 2x purple loot and managed to extract it

Bahaha. Turrets are brutal. I picked a chest and ran past a checkpoint not realizing it was there. BAM. toast. Luckily I just spawned there and walked out with no rogue timer and picked up my gear.
I saw a lot of hate online for these new turrets but I cant fault them, great idea IMO.

Also the gear normalization seems to be working well, dudes in blues and greens still had no trouble taking me down 1v1 if they got the jump. But my 85 round LMG just shredded anyone that was caught in the open. I even think a green TAR21 I had killed things fastest overall due to high RoF and Laser-beam like accuracy/stability.

Once I was no longer chasing upgrades it was very refreshing to just roam the DZ hunting for troublemakers since dying cost me nothing (no more lost experience or funds like TD1 days).

Yeah I picked two DZ chests yesterday and then hacked a whole lot of SHD terminals to get access to the Thieves Den.

All that I got inside it was 30 rounds of incendiary ammo :|

I didn't get a thing when i did it. Just a removal of my rogue timer. I presume this place will be more useful with DZ perks at level cap.

The last hour I played, I had managed to upgrade to 2 blue guns, one 100 round LMG with decent RoF and also a M4 which had quite good stability + I added a 30 round magazine to it to take it to 60. I started winning more 1v1 battles after that. I was only losing to fully purple geared guys after that.

I feel like they should've had more specialisations. Or maybe light (sub machine gun or assault rifle) heavy (shotgun, machine gun or grenade launcher) and long range (crossbow and sniper).

3 more coming in year 1:

Instant unlock of the Year 1 Specializations
At launch, The Division 2 will include three Specializations, instantly available to everyone when reaching max level (Level 30).
Throughout Year 1, we will release three additional Specializations for your agent. Year 1 Pass holders will unlock these new specializations as soon as they're released.
For those who do not have the Year 1 Pass, specializations will be released at the same time, but must be unlocked over time through gameplay.

I played about 100 hours of the first Division very early in the game, but had no friends to play it with so pretty much stopped when reaching endgame. I've heard it improved a LOT over the years for solo players and smaller groups, so I checked out the Open Beta.

Very impressed, minor gripes aside it's genuinely fun - something I haven't had from a MMO-style game since Warhammer Online.

Great game. Sadly let down by the teams behind it.

    Just watched this stream

Some really great changes with crafting and re-calibration. Awesome stuff. Hype levels climbing.

Crafting bench is upgraded by you as you level Green->Blue->Purple->Orange->GS Tiers
Can craft Branded sets at near endgame level not before. Requires brand materials farmed from missions and activities.
Blueprints come from missions and activities no RNG here.
Crafting gives you access to gear that isn't dropping yet

    Re-calibration
Find a piece of gear with good talent, move that talent across to similar gear piece & replace a bad talent of the same class.

I found a crate somewhere that looked like it required 8 keys? (crystal keys maybe? I forget). What's that about? Only keys I've found were some of the faction ones.

So I saw that if you pre-order the Gold edition you get 3 day early access. Does anyone know if this applies to PS4 or PC only and whether this is also for NZ?
