Buy the first game off Steam or GOG, install the unofficial patch by Wesp5 and play it. It is really bloody good, one of the best RPGs ever made IMO. Basically gothic Deus Ex.

The GOG.com version already includes the Basic version of the Unofficial patch. Legacy version does not.[3]

Using Unofficial Patches with Steam version[4][5]

The fan-made Unofficial Patch removes many bugs and adds multiple features like widescreen support. The Unofficial Patch is available in two flavors Basic and Plus:

    1. Install the game from Steam as you would any other game.
    2. Run the game once. It's fine if it crashes (this is where an install with a 64 bit OS is likely to give a memory error).
    3. Download the latest unofficial patch.
    4. Run the executable you've downloaded as an administrator.
    5. Choose the installation folder when prompted.
    6. Choose a type of installation - Basic or Plus
    7. Basic - consists of bugfixes that do not alter Troika's vision for the game and some minor changes made to streamline the experience.
    8. Plus - makes more extreme changes including fan-made content and numerous other fan changes to the overall flow and story that go outside of what the developers have originally intended.
    9. Enjoy the game.

well the end of the trailer does say
    Coming Q1 2020
    and the pre-order website has;
    Name: bloodlines2thing.jpg
Views: 366
Size: 70.8 KB

I guess it is possible they could go for the extra $, but then they have a launcher that they themselves own.

Wasn't the first Bloodlines was more of a open-world sorta vampire game? (I played it ages ago but can't really remember much about it)

Sort of. It had 3 or 4 mission hub areas. IIRC there was Downtown LA, Hollywood, the Nosferatu sewers, Chinatown.

It's 75% on GOG RIGHT NOW, actually.

I'd say it's like Deus Ex but with Vampires.

Was an excellent game, although buggy as all hell.

They seem to really be focusing on what was probably the weakest thing last time around, the combat.

This is goooood stuff, as it was pretty dog in the original truth be told.

Imagine Dishonored style FPS combat and the writing of the original.....****, amazing times ahead.

Where's Chris?? This is his #1 game.

I rate Bloodlines as one of my favourite RPGs of all time and I have zero hype for this.

Bloodlines was great because it was made by Troika, every RPG they put out was amazing (if buggy). This is not made by Troika, even if it has a few of the same people, so I have very low expectations.

I'd love to be proven wrong though.

Incidentally, Mitsoda hasn't done anything since the original VTMB, so... it's a bit like pulling a pensioner back into action.
