I think taking offence is a waste of time and energy. If the shoe doesn't fit, just hand it back, or or leave it where it lays (lies?).

If the person is in your life and keeps saying things that are not true or mean, then boundaries are required. Still though - what's the point in taking offence?

I think 'taking offence' is actually an emotionally manipulative technique that people use when they can't express their hurt/dissapointment and/or put up healthy boundaries to protect themselves (internally or externally).

Haha my sister in law is like that. Her husband does twice the amount of parenting she does and she is out every second night.

The woman that complained about the BK ad is the same woman that kept Tinder messages from the guy on MAFS NZ and also tried cyber stalking some guy that held her hand 15 years ago. She seems to have problems.

Interesting that the original stories that featured the Golliwog he was portrayed in a positive light. I would have thought a black doll would be anti-racist, but you can read into, and be offended on behalf of anyone these days.

= Group of mothers so bored with their stay at home life that they go out for coffee every day with other bored with their stay at home life friends, drink wine and spend the rest of the time looking intently for something to be offended at, usually on behalf of a minority group whom they think doesn't have the ability to be offended on their own.

Now that is racism right there, thinking someone doesn't have the ability to be offended on their own.
