    Microsoft - Monday, June 10, 8am

The folks behind Xbox have been making fascinating moves with Game Pass and xCloud, but they still have a lot to prove when it comes to first-party games. Itís safe to expect Gears 5 and Halo Infinite, but what else does Phil Spencer have hiding under his video game t-shirts? With Sony out of the picture, this will be the one remaining place for big third-party gameplay trailers. Some safe guesses include Borderlands 3 and Cyberpunk 2077. And is it too much to hope for a Rocksteady reveal?

    Bethesda - Monday, June 10, 12:30pm

After the disastrous launch of Fallout 76, itíll be interesting to see how Bethesda handles this one. Will they address their online gameís issues? Ignore it in favor of Doom Eternal and whatever new announcements theyíve got coming? Or just spend the whole time talking about Quake Champions?

    Ubisoft - Tuesday, June 11, 8am

Ubisoftís always good for a surprise or two, and this year should be no exception. Assassinís Creed is skipping this year, so donít expect to see Vikings just yet, but perhaps itís time for Watch Dogs 3? We should get a new look at Beyond Good & Evil 2. Maybe weíll see Pioneer, the game that was teased a few years ago and now looks very different than it once did.

    Square Enix - Tuesday, June 11, 1pm

Last yearís Square Enix show was one of the most disappointing E3 presentations in recent memory, in large part because the publisher failed to even mention two of its biggest announced games, The Avengers and Final Fantasy VII: Remake. This year, that should change. We hope.

    Nintendo - Wednesday, June 12, 4am

As usual, Nintendo will be holding a digital presentation to talk about all things Switch, likely highlighted by Animal Crossing and this yearís Pokťmon games. We probably wonít see Metroid Prime 4, but weíll definitely see the new Fire Emblem and Super Mario Maker 2. One game we wonít see: Reggie Fils-Aime.

I know Nintendo have already said no to new hardware but with a recent slump in Switch sales they're not going to want to confirm anything for an event that's a month away so I'm really hoping they announce a refreshed Switch.

Being high on their own hubris from PS4's success in the West may catch them unaware when Xbox Anaconda + Lockheart drop.

PS5 will be dead on arrival in Japan. Japan belongs to Nintendo. Nintendo Switch and PC are now the home of Japanese games.

The Japanese developers who still throw their hat in with PlayStation exclusivity are doomed to eventual financial ruin. Atlus are lucky that they're owned by Sega.

You had better hope that Westerners continue to buy Sony's glorified interactive movie games, since they killed business relations with Japanese 3rd party developers.

"In water is wet, air is breathable news today, Eva over to you...?"

You act like this is a new development? Ignoring the fact the Nintendo platforms have frequently outsold many console generations in Japan, and portable platforms have always sold well in Japan - even the non-Nintendo ones do better than expected. So of course the Switch was going to sell better because it had portability and well... its Nintendo. But the platform is reaching a plateau worldwide anyway, so crowing about the inevitable passing of PS4 numbers in Japan is ignoring the bigger picture of slowing sales for the platform worldwide.

As for the companies - developers with exclusive titles are making the majority of their sales on international and the PS4 especially this gen, and it's not been different for those with multi-platform either. So yeah I'm sure they're crying themselves to sleep on the piles of money they seem to have made internationally anyway.

Edit - SquareEnix - I expect the FF7 Remake and whatever that Avengers game is should be expected as their big things. If the latter doesn't show up then it's in serious trouble. To miss out on the positive buzz the recent film has had as momentum into showing off the game would be a missed chance for sure. I'm not expecting another Tomb Raider or Hitman anytime soon.

I predict after E3 switch sales will take off again. The second half of 2019 has so many massive games for the switch.

I hope so because my switch is a pretty table ornament at the moment and considering flicking it.

The games are too expensive for what they are, 95% are indie and ports from ten years ago.

I'm the complete opposite. It's now the only console I use.

What I really don't understand is how they can justify higher prices for the same game just on a different system and it's always inferior

The only reason I really get Nintendo consoles is for Pokemon games and between releases it usually just collects dust. The other Nintendo franchises just don't appeal to me. I didn't even finish Lets Go Pikachu. I just hope Sword and Shield have Pro controller support.

    Hot take no research predictions:

Cyberpunk gameplay demo is amazing, and makes us all froth.
Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order delivers the goods - and plays like Dark Souls mixed with Uncharted.
Microsoft come out with their new hardware, and perhaps, with the lack of Sony at E3, steal the hardware hearts for now.

Death Stranding keeps being weird and confusing, par for the course.

Meh if Microsoft mention a new console, I won't be excited. I was a big Xbox 360 fan, but the Xbox One is super lacking in comparison to the PS4.

I hope Bad Company 3 gets a mention somewhere, it's the only game I'm looking forward too, even when the effort they put into BFV was disappointing.

I'm really hoping this will be the case. Cyberpunk is the only upcoming game I am massively hyped about with TLOU2 being a distant 2nd.

I don't have either, but the general consensus seems to be that the Xbone/Microsoft has caught up?

In basically every area except their software lineup. Sony still dominating in exclusives. But MS caught up in hardware specs and actually passed Sony in that aspect its quite impressive what they were able to get out of current-gen hardware with the One-X. Gamepass is brilliant. They just need to sort out that software lineup.

I think it was fairly far along when EA bought Respawn, so it shouldn't be too pozzed. Chris Avellone is writing so I'm cautiously optimistic.

I feel like Avellone has been attached to every game for the last 5 or so years.
