    Would bet on a draw
It's not a 'draw' if it's rained off, it's a no result. Bets are null and void if it's a no result anyway, aren't they? There are no draws in ODI cricket, period. Win, loss, tie or no result.

Wait so if they both get the same score, and there's no super over, it's a no result? Isn't a tie the same as a draw?

It's just the terminology used, if they both finish on the same score at the completion it is a tie. A no result is virtually a draw, but you only hear draw used in tests.

You'll never hear 'match drawn' in ODI cricket.

Cool, thanks for clearing that up bro

Well looks like a rain out.

NZ needs only another rain out (very likely) and one victory in the next 5 games and we are probably through the semis if we can protect our net run rate.

Can you imagine the fallout if the India vs. Pakistan game is rained off....

Let's watch the world's current number one song while we wait for it to stop raining:

Where do you start? Financial - itíll probably be the most watched game of the whole tournament. Itíll be a default national holiday in both countries, with all the political/war along their border lately, this game is a big deal.

Also, just to add a pedantic point, if the two sides finish on the same number of runs at the end of a test, it is only a tie if the team batting 4th is bowled out, otherwise it's a draw.

11.20am The covers are coming off, reports Melinda Farrell. Now for the rain to behave itself.

It's not even lunch time yet :P

Haha, fair enough. Last I read the outfield was absolutely soaked.

Meh what point is making the semis if we get outclassed with whoever we face

I'd rather we make the semis properly rather than rain helping us,

Well that's just the shit nature of cricket.

Easy on, we can't do anything about the weather. Our record at World Cup's is pretty amazing in terms of making semis, and that has nothing to do with not deserving it. We beat a lot of good teams... getting past Sri Lanka in the semi's has been our biggest hurdle.

Always so negative. We still have plenty of decent sides to face.

Yeah, would rather have taken 2 points, but happy with 1

Would've definitely preferred to have gone for maximum points... if were going to have a good crack at winning this tournament need to go into all these matches with plenty of confidence, especially against teams like India.

I also heard yesterday that the ICC received >500, 000 individual applications in the ballot for tickets to the game

There's a downside to that point of view.

Yeah, we could've lost the match & got no points at all, if I had the choice though would always take the option of going for the win.

I'd be disappointed if we don't win our next three games, we should be winning these... but we can drop one.
