    It's a great film but not an uplifting watch, for sure.

    Prefer Full Metal Jacket as my fave Vietnam War film. Platoon is up there too.

    Fantastic film. I hope that this is closer to the theatrical cut and not over-long bore which is the Resux cut.

    The first half at boot camp is fantastic. When they actually get to Vietnam it loses a lot of steam because the filming location of South London is pretty apparent, All those run down factories were pretty immersion breaking IMO. They should've filmed in Thailand, like other Vietnam war films did.

    A young martin sheen looks a lot like his son Emilio. We Were Soldiers was an ok Vietnam film as well.

    Finally got around to watching this. Really enjoyed it & can see why some people consider it a masterpiece. Was out of it seeing all these actors when they were a lot younger especially Laurence Fishburne which took a while for me to realise it was him lol. Had no idea Harrison Ford was in this as well.
