    Nintendo announces switch lite

Nintendo has announced the switch lite, you can't dock it or remove the joycons, however it comes with a die shrunk tegra processor, its smaller lighter, has more battery life and at $199usd good value for money IMHO

Finally they release a proper handheld. The First gen switch is too big imo.
Not mentioned in the article, but obviously the screen resolution will be toned down on this version since it's smaller - but given the small screen it shouldn't matter and should still look crisp.

Good move from Nintendo this should get them a lot of extra sales

$400 at eb games wtf. Completely ruins the point of this new version with that price. Mighty ape is a bit more reasonable. Should be $300 at most.

Not handheld on a small screen, 720p is fine

What actually hurts the image is switch games usually have little or no: Anti Aliasing, little or no AF and poor draw distances

Yeah the price is actually just stupid. Maybe $150usd would be fair. They would sell like hot cakes

They will sell like hot cakes regardless
Nintendo knows what it’s doing - if it needed to drop the price to get sales they would have

It's not even a Switch at this point is it? You can't "Switch" between docked and portable.

It still BOOTS all Switch games (the small handful which require detachable Joycons might not be playable though). It's the same console, just smaller form factor.

They're keeping the name for brand recognition. They learnt their lesson from how badly marketed the Wii U was, casuals thought it was an addon for Wii. You can't fault their logic here.

still waiting to hear about whether the joysticks / joycon has the infamous joycon drift issue fixed
