watched most of the games on the weekend, admittedly it was mainly to check the AB hopefuls. Weber . Squire all playing well. Laumape was ok, Rieko had an intercept but the match did not give him any chances,.

I didn't watch the game but watched highlights.

Do you think he lost his pace and is becoming a premature Julian Savea?

If that is the case then **** my life! Really hope he gets into form.

That Rayasi guy is a good player but failry a bit cocky...

Wonder what the situation was with Squire not wanting to play in the Rugby Championship ? if it was about personal or family problems that's fine, hard to concentrate on rugby properly when you have those type of issues on your mind.

Personal issues are probably his mind playing games with him after his injury scares.

They? Not really, personal issue is all we need, it's not E network we don't need to pry into his life.

I dont think Rieko is less quick, more like him not quick nailing those moments which he used to do , going thru that gap, that split second choice to pass after hitting the outside etc. It is a tiny % things that is the difference between good and great . Do i think Reece or Bridges has the natural ability of Rieko? Nope, not close but they are hitting those small moments being on fire or in form. Hopefully they bring Rieko in but it wont surprise me if they leave him behind either.

Not saying to give all the details, just say whether it was personal, through injury, lost confidence etc.

I'd definitely expect him to be named in the squad.

Squire should make himself available, needs to go he's a great player.

With Wgtn a fair way down the table at the moment need to win to keep in touch with the top 4... number 8 Ben-Nicholas is a really impressive player surely they'll select him in the Canes squad next season.

    Geez Wellington are so shit.

5-6 lineout drive attempts, 5m out from the line, fail.

Multiple scrums WITH AN EXTRA PLAYER, 5m out of the line, fail.

Why keep trying this shit when they're clearly no good at it? Where does this un-earned confidence come from?? By the time the backs have a go with it they've been standing there waiting for 20min doing nothing.

Which is stupid because when they're running onto it with ball in hand thats the only time we look dangerous, as long as moron Garden-Bachop doesn't just kick the ball away pointlessly first that is.

F**king frustraiting. Let's see if we can grow a brain for the second half.

Edit: We got all the ball and a lot go our way in the second half and still made verry hard work of it, great sideline conversion at the end to tie it up then not even end up needing it lol, of course. Thought the last pass for the final try was forward but *shrugs*.

Reckon from those lineout drives we should've worked the ball to the back of those rolling drives straightaway, with us keeping the ball in the middle they only had to stop us & they'd get turn over ball.

There tends to be a forward pass in just about every try that's scored in rugby & refs don't give a stuff about offsides that showed out again in this match.

Wgtn got themselves into excellent attacking positions, but on most of those occasions made stupid errors, so in the end were very lucky to sneak the win.

Should be a pretty comfortable victory to Otago... hard part is by exactly how many points, reckon by 20.

The final score wasn't a true indication of the match, good effort by Manawatu.

Manawatu gave away a silly intercept try, when a player has ball in hand they need to have a quick scan as they know all defences stand up flat so they're basically living in your backline waiting for intercepts, idiotic giving a 50/50 pass when there's every chance you'll gift the opposition an easy try.

Jackson showed again what a poor ref he is when the twat awarded a try to Otago when it was obvious Black was taken out creating a huge gap for them to score.

While I agree that Jackson is a rubbish ref there was nothing wrong with that call.
Black made the decision to come in on the dummy runner and committed himself to the wrong player.
He initiated the contact as much if not more than the runner did.

From what I remember the player took out Black & all the commentators said that too, I'd have to check again.
