    The Irishman [Netflix]

Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Joe Pesci star in Martin Scorsese’s THE IRISHMAN, an epic saga of organized crime in post-war America told through the eyes of World War II veteran Frank Sheeran, a hustler and hitman who worked alongside some of the most notorious figures of the 20th Century. Spanning decades, the film chronicles one of the greatest unsolved mysteries in American history, the disappearance of legendary union boss Jimmy Hoffa, and offers a monumental journey through the hidden corridors of organized crime: its inner workings, rivalries and connections to mainstream politics.

It's going to be interesting seeing how many screens this opens on in the US for a 200M budget film, the heads of AMC, Regal etc which control 3/4s of US screens have said they won't show it if they don't have a typical exclusivity window(ie 3 months) which Netflix won't accept.

Cinema release Nov 1st, Nov 27th for Netflix. Hearing similar statements from a European Cinema chain

Irishman is likely to be out on ~500 screens max in the US when it releases because the big 3 chains are out. No word from NZ chains yet if they will show it.

For those wondering why this is not at event or hoyts looks like they passed on it due to it going to Netflix before the 90 day window was up. https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/enter...shman.amp.html

Cinemas going full boomer on it. It's like they want to join Sky on their way down.

It was pure greed if the reporting is anywhere near accurate on the deal terms.

Just a heads up theres a few independent theater screenings this week. Despite it releasing on Netflix on Wednesday. If you want to see it on the big screen, Now would be your chance. Just google The Irishman. And showtimes should pop up.

Why pay rip off movie prices and put up with shitty Auckland traffic when you can just watch it from the comfort of your home at no extra cost lol.
