The problem with vaping is that it gained some credibility as a less harmful alternative to smoking.

The market behaved as you would expect, and sold it as a sexier, safer, better tasting alternative to cigarettes, and guess what? Kids who had never smoked in their lives have started using the product.

The data is now in that a scary percentage of high school students have gone straight to vaping.

Get used to the idea that vaping is going the same way as synthetic cannabis, will be legislated against, and only remembered as another dumb thing that people did to themselves. .

While I think vaping is cringey and is not something I am interested in - I'd like to see some evidence that shows it actually generates as much harm to society as synthetic cannabis or smoking itself (data which I assume will emerge over the next few years) if they are going to treat it in a similar way.

It's not like there isn't a myriad of things that people seem to enjoy doing to themselves that maybe harmful, where do we draw the line again?

Just ban it all in public and it's fine.

I don't care what you do in your own home, but I want to walk down the street without walking into your inners being exhaled in my face.

    This.

Same with cigarettes. And remove all tax on them, but if you get smoking related lung cancer, you just f**king quietly die at home and not be a burden on our already maxed health system, mmmmmkay.

Why are you spreading lies? There is zero, and I mean zero, links to diet soda and cancer. On top of that, diet soda has some use. As in its 99.9% water so it keeps you alive. Inhaling toxic shit into your lungs does nothing and makes you look like a retard.

Alright pops, I get you're a little emotional charged because I've called out your chemical pleasure. But I didn't directly imply sweeteners are a cancer carcinogen. There are studies showing sweeteners destroying the healthy gut microbiome, which isn't what I would call a healthy alternative and it definitely won't help anyone whose already at risk of cancer, especially stomach and other DI tract cancers. There is some evidence of it correlating with increased diabetes rates, but personally I don't find myself convinced by that one.

I like the odd vape and shisha session because the psychostimulating effect of nicotine keeps me alert and sociable during the last half of a nightshift or night out. You frothers have very little to gain for your taking away of a piece of kit that keeps me happy and safe, so yeah, you can just **** off you bitter old ****.

That's not the issue, it's being sold to children, has no material benefit, and is probably addictive.

There's no legislative way to prevent that happening because specialist vape shops are popping up all over the place [there's 2 in Browns Bay ffs], and unlike convenience stores, they're not covered by other legislation.

Why would society allow a product that's promoted as a safer alternative to tobacco, allow that to continue?

What are you blabbering on about you spacker? You can vape as much as you want, but you look like a retard doing it. That's all I'm saying. Couldn't give a shit if you kill your lungs, that's your choice. Just don't breathe your lung juices on me.

Also not sure how old you are, but unless you're under 25 calling me old is probably a mistake.

My blabber was a response to your fake news war cry.

We have no choice in the matter of bathing in each others lung juices. You just can't handle being reminded of it can you? Nature scaring you again ol' boy?

Breathing in second hand air is nothing like breathing in your disgusting wet cloud of perfume. If you want people to respect your choice to vape, respect everyone else's choice to not be near you when you do it.

There was a study done on rats, the artificial sweeteners re-calibrated their brains sweetness reaction, it could explain the increased diabetes rates. Basically you drink lots of diet coke, then crave sweets:

[quote]For instance, in one experiment, a group of rats was given food that was sweetened with glucose (a type of sugar), and a different group of rats was given food sweetened with artificial sweeteners. Then, both groups of rats were temporarily deprived of food, to make them hungry. After hunger was induced through food deprivation, the researchers found that when both groups of rats were given access to new glucose-sweetened food, the rats that were initially given artificially-sweetened food ate significantly more than those who were originally given glucose-sweetened food. They over-ate the glucose-sweetened food because they had not been used to the connection between the sweet taste and its caloric content, due to having been given low-calorie, artificially-sweetened food initially. In effect, they were unable to make the connection between sweetness and nourishment.

There was another recent study in humans that showed that diet drinks induce the same neurochemical response as sugar (eg increasing insulin levels) but without the carbohydrate load - so you tend to compensate by eating more. It's a bit of a zero-sum game.

Yes, yes, we are all aware of the issue with artificial sweeteners. However there is zero link to cancer which was what was implied above.

Also it should be noted that the rats are injected with very large amounts of the stuff that no normal human would consume in a normal day. Oh....and they're rats so the physiology isn't even the same. Lots of shit works on rats but not humans and vice versa.

What we do know though is that vaping makes you look like a retard. That's a fact backed up by years of scientific observation.

It also should be noted that the CEO of the words largest vaping company says to teenagers not to vape....makes you think he knows something and doesn't want the law suit hassles.

Luckily no one cares about your opinion.

But call people retards again and see what happens.
